2017 Worlds Men's SP

And "old man" patrick nails it too!! Haha. So much for the talk of he and javi being left behind by the youngsters and their quads.... 3rd!!!!

Oh, Patrick!!!!!

This should be over 100 for the first time for him!!!!! The program is so beautiful.

Thank you, Patrick for not retiring from the competition, so that I can enjoy your beautiful beautiful skating live and more!

His gratitude towards the coaches are really genuine. Thank you zueva and Epstein for him.

Can't ask for more, well done PChiddy!!! After all that pressure... you delivered!

OK, So i saw this comment on YT on Julian's skate.

Quote:
"He can do jump well technically. However, what is lacking is the music artistry during the step sequence, the right music and choreography in which judge pay attention. Honestly, he should stop doing the squat movement during skating (2:56) because it will not impress the judges. Use the precious time given to fine tune the choreography because I know he can show his skills more. Good luck and I hope he will become the first Malaysian to qualify for figure skating."

I think the squat movement that she meant was the Cantilever movement. Uno and MCM uses this in their programs quite a bit. So...tell me, does a Cantilever actually give points? Other than that, yea. I think he needs a better choreographer to fine tune his program

It's not a scored element in itself, but can be used as a transition or choreographic element. I'm not sure why the commenter thinks it's a waste of time? Hell, it was the best part of Shoma's Turnandot. Unless they're saying Julian's not utilizing it well? But they also say he's not artistic/musical in the steps and that's the opposite conclusion everyone here on GS came to, so I have no idea what this person was on about.

Good job, Patrick! But I am sad my sweetheart Jin Boyang won't get a small medal. He did so great <3 <3 <3 Good job, Spiderboyang!

And the uncles brought it. Who would have thought?

Now I'm really sad for Yuzu, though. Bring it in the FS, you crazy mofo.

My first post :luv17: I'm more of a lurker but today's competition has been absolutely incredible. My chest aches from Yuzu but I'm so glad to see Javi skate so beautifully, Shoma as well, and Patrick got 100+ ?! I've only been watching skating for 3 years but I've never seen a men's comp like this...

Uno's PCS are too low! Why is he so far behind Fernandez and Chan, and why on earth is Hanyu with a bad skate even so much higher.

WOW! HUGE SCORE FOR JAVI! :luv17:

Patrick did great too! The 'old' guys are bringing it!

I think Nathan is going to have to be perfect and bring his five (or six!) quad program just to have a shot at the podium!

I doubt that Nathan will make the podium but top five is possible.
