2017 Worlds Pairs FS

Just wondering what place would the Knierim's have to get now to give the U.S 2 spots for the Olympics?

In the ordinary course of events, basically any place would do, but so many countries are doing so strongly and there are only 16 spots for Olys total, so practically speaking it's likely or at least possible that they'll have to finish ahead of the French team.

I'm here

did not eat my dinner due to havoc at work

I'm hungry

I have ****load of catching up on Men's competition

I am again behind with myself.

I'm hungry

cheers to All:ghug:

I really like the Helsinki World Championship logo with the flowers :o:

I want SK/K to skate sooooo well. I just want only good things for them! They deserve it.

I hope D/R tone down the difficulty and skate well and clean enough that Eric isn't in too much pain and they still keep three spots for Canada.

I don't get Z/E. They don't have the quality of elements or skating of other Russian pairs, but I guess they are more consistent and healthy than the pairs who had to stay home. (I hope S/K beat them!)

Luba and Dylan can slay me with their cheesy free skate. But it's so cheesy I have trouble taking them seriously. But keep 3 spots for Canada!

So you think they are going to win? ;)

Haha no sadly, but I do think they will continue to climb from the 9th place they are ensured now, and maybe end up with something close to what people predicted them pre event (even pre event most didnt pick them to actually medal, while still acknowledging they were a dark horse with potential to even win gold).

I wonder if S/K will be able to overtake somone from this group too. For sure not if the teams will be clean, but with mistakes... who knows.

I thought S/K earned it, no? Mistakes but still really awesome. J/C were nowhere near their best sadly :(
yes.. btw 141.03 is for away from their PB that is (154.60 = 79.12+75.48) ....
here they got just 70.41 PCS... I would say they even hold back a little bit because of the 1st group...

I dunno that I agree about Z/E- I actually think they have huge, beautiful elements on the whole (though their 2A throw is weak), my issue with them is they skate like it's a job- very clinically, with no emotion, with no spark. I get why they get high TES and +GOE on the elements but their PCS on the other hand- that I'll never understand.

If there's only one spot for pairs next year then SK/K should get it by default as long as they are healthy. It will be awful if Kayne/O'Shea or D/F go to the Olympics due to 2018 Nationals and Alexa and Chis miss out.
