2017 Worlds Pairs SP

holly...

that was something else than just a skate, just a performance

it was living out the music, all its nuances in every movement, a live illustration of perfect balance between technical prowess, maestry and liquid, seamless quality of a performance.

I got shivers from the first notes, the way they were in character, this ability to mold themselves in music, but still have so much of personality, character doing this...True artists of a form so restricted by rules and requirements, with such abandon, sass and poise.

Underscored...yes even at a 81.23 their PCS was lower than last yr and TES was lower than 4CC and what T/M got several times...

No one in the final group should come within 3 points...

Ya think...sbs's were a little wonky. I think it was fair.

I was commenting on Sui / Han! Someone needed to warn me about them. I almost had a heart attack from perfection!!!

I accidentally clicked multiquote on your post. I wasn't actually replying to you. The forum is just loading so slowly it took me a bit to edit.

And sorry, Zab/En are completely boring as well as newbies. Just because they are Russians in the traditional style, they get unfair rep points. No way that Luba/Dylan should be behind Z/E on PCS. That's figure skating with its rampant politics.

Zabiako/Enbert have quite a low BV in the free program. They have enough "big" elements for the short, but end up using SBS doubles in the free.

I know it's their PB, but I expected even more :p

yes, this was the only down of that performance, and it did not even come from it directly...

ps did You saw poster on boards for Natalia and Maksym?!, I'm all over it!!!

Tatiana/Maxim 84. Olympics Skate America. The 2013/2014 season.

WRs in all other disciplines have been broken multiple times since that season. Crazy...

I never really loved Masquerade Waltz as much as others did.

I don't mean to grouse, but S/H would have WR if they were from Russia/Canada/US/Japan.....;)

The Judges need to leave some room - after all there are 2 RUS pairs in the next group! With the scores we are seeing so far is it possible that the World Champs form the last 2 years may not even be in the final group for the free. Any little slip from them and D/R could find themselves down around 8th or 9th place!

Well, given many WRs in the other disciplines, I don't see why not.
Well how to say it, the WR they gave out for pairs during 2014 Olympic season was just too much over the top, so it's extremely difficult for judges to top that. Next season they might break it.
