2018-19 Japanese National FS Championships Ladies' FS

LOL I was going to have a nap before the Fuji TV broadcast starts, but all your comments are keeping me awake! Please carry on...

I wonder how the ex coaches of struggling skaters feel about them, like Seki and Hamada.

The yellow traffic lights are giving me a stroke

Actually, I wanted to ask just what exactly each of the colours meant. I can't read Japanese, so I don't know what the Key at the side says. Plus, it took me a long time to get a hang of the system used in Pyeongchang, and it only had 2 colours whereas this system has 3.

Just when I mention the Key at the side, you would have thought they would have ordered it so that it looked like a set of traffic lights! :p

Have to say, this Tech Box being used by the Japanese includes just about everything you could possibly want it to. It really does make the Tech Box that was being used by the Russians this week look very basic.

I think yellow is review (checking jumps for UR, etc.)

They are showing my true love Rika, right now! Thankfully, her run through looks good despite the boot problems.

Oh, she just doubled a jump! Never a good sign because her practices are usually so strong compared to competition.

@CaroLiza_Fan, the red one is for minus GOE, the green one is for plus GOE, and the yellow one is under review(I think, can't make out the kanji 100%).

Your's is still to come, but my true love Rika has already been on. And whilst it wasn't the best I've ever seen her, it was the best I've seen her for a long time.

:cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

:cheer: WELL DONE RIKA!!! :cheer:

I would agree with this, maybe NHK can help out next year. Hopefully Marin can sort out any training issues and rebuild her confidence before next season.

Marin has strange jump technique. I think it will take more than one season to sort out but hopefully she will get back into form within the next year or two.

It’s the same system as PC? Green = positive GOE. Yellow = element under review. Red = negative GOE. Grey box with an X marking = invalid element.

Thanks for the confirmation.

I couldn't remember exactly what it meant at the Olympics, so I was guessing here. And I was well off the mark! :slink:

My guess was that it was something like:

Red - fall
Yellow - Under rotation
Green - clean
X - invalid element

:o:
