And i see that junior men did far better in SP than senior men.
Combo as last jumping pass is surely what allowed Yuma to take the lead.

Hmm they need to see if they can switch out the combo with the Flip but knock on wood, sounds like a great lead-in to JGP.

I've read that a skater can get up to 3 Challengers within one season, not sure if that was correct though.

Skaters can do three. Popova & Mozgov and McNamara & Carpenter did three last season. Tursynbaeva did three the year before. It is doable, and I'm pretty sure it helps with overall Challenger Series points. It doesn't necessarily help with World Standings because only the top two event results can count; but it helps with experience for athletes who aren't on the GP. However, as someone else pointed out, the Japanese Federation would have to elect to send him to three.

I really enjoyed his performances and I'm looking forward to see his development from now on!

Apparently he has trained the 4T, but at the moment he is focusing on the quality of his triples.

You meant junior?
Yuma Kagiyama is assigned to a JGP.
Shun Sato is junior but i don't know if he's assigned yet.
Speaking of Shun, he won a domestic comp recently. He fell on 4S but did two cleans 3As.

i didnt know wether they skate in junior or senior that's why im asking. after seeing JGP sub and assignment i just know that Yuma and Shun both still in junior. With how well Shun is doing i think he would get 1 eventually! I hope we can have another Japan skater beside Mitsuki to medal and even go to JGPF

Indeed.

I amend my statement: during the last quadrennium the '3rd Japanese guy' was more often than not a snooze. It's exciting that Japan now has a number of real performers outside Hanyu and Shoma, and I hope that injuries and/or unfortunate program choices don't hamper what should be a really exciting few years for them.

Kazuki is one of my rising stars and looking forward to seeing him in the next few seasons. I sure hope he gets to be a podium regular in the lead up to 2022 Olympics
