I thought that all of the retirees were retiring right after the Olympics and weren't going to do Worlds? Maybe this was just me speculating. What are the chances Patrick Chan actually goes to Worlds? He seems pretty done.

They'll name them and then let them pull out later. I doubt Patrick will go, but V/M have said they might and it's possible that D/R will too, if Meagan can drag Eric there. You know she never wants to skip a competition.

I feel bad for Alaine since she missed it in 2014, too, but she really didn't have much of a case over Larkyn. I'm glad they went with the medallists, although I wish Dylan and Lubov had been medallists.

I think he'll probably stay home, even if he wins an Olympic medal in singles, which is doubtful.

Wow. If you would have asked me 2 months ago if Alaine was on the team I would've said yes. This season is so messed up! Also currently gutted for Nam as well:sad21:

They might be, but it's still fair to name them to the World team.

I'm excited to see Elladj and Nam at 4CC as well as S/F and I/M ^_^

she has done it at Challenge Cup 2017 (an event taking place in Netherlands). She has the SP minimum by 0.93

Wow, just. Good for her.

The coaches introduced as part of the team:
Lee Barkell - Gabrielle Daleman
Ralph Burghardt - Keegan Messing
Bruno Marcotte - Duhamel/Radford, Moore-Towers/Marinaro
Nikolai Morozov - Weaver/Poje
Zdeněk Pazdírek - Larkyn Austman
Josee Pickard - Seguin/Bilodeau
Ravi Walia - Kaetlyn Osmond, Patrick Chan
Juris Razgulajevs - Gilles/Poirier

The rest of the coaches were not available.

Updating this with who the coaches work with.

Some of those skaters work with other coaches too. I assume Marie-France and Patrice left already, since they have teams going to Euros next week.

Looks like they went with the podium across the board. I'm pleased with all the choices, the podium placers all earned it. Hooray for Team Canada!

I am really sorry for Nam, asI think he deserved to go to the Olympics, but Keegan also deserved that place, and with Patrick Chan fixed in place there was no other solution. I still think Alaine has better skating skills than Larkin, but I really want Larkin to go out and forget she has no experience, and that's the Olympics where she competes. Maybe it's the right exposure for her, but only time will tell.
I don't like that they kept the same people for the worlds, especially in men where they were so close (points). Meaning that I would have given the world to Nam vs Keegan and Alaine vs Larkin.

I wonder if this means that Carol Lane will be commentating for CBC (Canadian TV). I hope so, I like her!

I wonder if Duhamel/Radford will skip Worlds and I/M will take their place? I'd like that. Shoot...I had hoped that Liam Firus might have gotten a 4CC placement. He'd need 2 skaters to pass and that's unlikely.
