I'm not sure Duskova/Bidar will compete. Anna only recently came back to ice and their main goal is of course Olympics, so they may decide againt competing here.

Is the third Russian pair confirmed? Do Astakhova/Rogonov have no more chances?

Since the Russian fed has Kristina ASTAKHOVA / Alexei ROGONOV and Aleksandra BOIKOVA / Dmitrii KOZLOVSKII listed officially as alternates, if one of the other 3 teams decides to withdraw, one of those 2 teams would get the spot, if the fed wants them to have it.

Disappointed that the Belarusian team of Danilova/Kamianchuk are not entered. With Japan now getting the sport surrendered by North Korea, they ended up missing out by less than 1mark. I hope they are stil skating. Nice to see a pair from Azerbaijan, I assume they are originality Russian. I had assumed the Croatians had split but maybe they were injured, I think this is their first competition of the year.

Best of luck to all in Team Russia. Please Ksenia land those jumps.

Savchenko/Massot were beaten twice by Tarasova/Morozov at Euros in a row, so winning the title for the first time after the partnership formed really will mean something to them before the Olympics. I hope S/M do well at the event, and my wishful thinking is that Stolbova and Klimov beat Tarsova and Morozov as well. I really can't stand their Candyman and yellow dot costumes.

Czech Fed just listed them because there is no other Czech team. Anna is getting better (now trying triples) but it is better for them to prepare for OG. I will miss them :(

I think Aljona wants the 3ATh so badly. At least in the SP.

The possible second place behind T/M in moscow is too dangerous.

With Savchenko/Massot out I really, really want one of the Italian pairs to medal - ideally, Marchei and Hotarek because Valentina Marchei is amazing and she DMd me on Instagram lol

Okay now I want James/Cipres to win that gold. Not Candyman. :noshake:

Or Stolbova and Klimov for the title that they've never won. The key to the success is they have to be absolutely clean against Tarasova and Morozov who can have a room for a little mistakes as they have TES advantages. I hope T/M at least to change their tacky costumes for viewers' sake. They are not doing any favor for themselves with the program. Their SP choreography and package are not good either, but still not worst.

Delivering two clean(ish) programs is also applied to James/Cipres if they aim to get more than a medal, thus bronze, but I wonder the judges are willing to anoint them over the Russians on the Russian soil unless both T/M and St/Kl bomb a big time. I want spectacular competitions without any flop or injury before the Olympics, so I don't want that scenario.

When you think about it in terms of missed training time, competition stress and travel fatigue, it's a good decision to skip Euros. I'm a bit worried though that they want to spend the time gained on the triple Axel mainly.
