2018 Lombardia Trophy Mens Short Program

I liked Shoma’s short, but something was missing. Which is odd, because this style suits him very well.

Fiery Shoma! Love both the lyrical and the fiery sections. This program has come a LONG way since I saw it in August. Love the 3A kakkoii part. Hello Fluffy...And where is that blond lady with the black glasses who can't take her eyes off him? This is the 3rd year I'm seeing her. I think she's been shoomed.

I think I know who that lady is but my lips are sealed.

I have to tune out now because I still have to be a responsible adult and go to work this morning. My gratitude to Shoma and all of you guys who have been a good company in this thread :) have a nice day!

Shoma <3 is officially my favorite male skater to watch. He has the best posture of them all. I thought I wouldn't like this music for him, but I do.

And for the record no, audio is not delayed, but everyone fell on their jumps and were late finishing their spins.
His carriage and core strength are second to none. It's that beautiful Nagoya posture.

His coach seems lovely, nearly always smiling!

The ever-positive, ever-effervescent Coach Fluffy.

Me too. I have to get some work done, duty calls.

The head shaking was a bit much, but I agree, it’s a good program that plays to his strengths

Yes, there was a part he was shaking his head like “no no no”, but apart from that I liked it.

Shoma is a superstar, I’m not even surprised anymore.

Love shoma program.. but why i feel like shoma is holding back, its feel like he skating and spin slower than his usual, or its just the streaming make it look like that.

I got on the stream during my lunch break just as Shoma was getting on! First time seeing this, great program, good performance, and it will only get better. He moves so beautifully, not only with fluidity but also strength, sharpness, intensity, and speed all at the same time.

And he didn't have to jump rope, answer phones, or do any heavy breathing. He's a champ. I find his skating VERY appealing!

I think Shoma's jumps looked smoother, less like he's about to do his knee an injury? I could be wrong, but they seem so, but then my memory of the second half of least season and especially Worlds is still strong in my head. So kudos if I'm right!

I feel like this program might be too close to his last flamenco program (FS 2016-2017). I can see its potential if he keeps working hard on projection and making the gestures seem organic to the program as a whole. I worry because it felt like last year he peaked artistically at Lombardia. And I feel like he's close, so close, but not there to make something a true bombshell of an artistically compelling performance, which can get frustrating when he doesn't get there. The day he does that will be memorable and celebration-worthy day indeed. I never got that last season from him, so I hope for it in this season!

I've seen him skate that and "sell" it better. First competition jitters. Still a beautiful skate. Could possibly partly be the stream. I think he will add little bits and pieces of choreo as the season goes on...I love that move where he kind of scoots back with one foot.
