Side note: We need to give the ISU music rights for a new playlist, two years running of "Something just like this".

I just the caught the end of that, but that was an interesting mix of music cuts...

Is it just me, or does it look like somebody has thrown some yellow and some green paint over Morisi's black jumper?

Strange combination of music, but a good start to the competition.

It really was  Moris is only 5'10"/180 cm, but he looks so gangly, like he doesn't fully have control over his limbs. It especially shows up in the wobbliness of his jumps.

Kolyada has been hit or miss for me in the past (partially due to the quality of his programs and partially because sometimes he is just a hot mess in terms of jumps), but he's really developed into a beautifully fluid and passionate skater.

4T-3T combination was gorgeous, than he overrotated both the 3Lz and the 3A, but it is really a good program. Good for him! :agree:

So really impressive skating and jumps from Mikhail, but maybe it's just me, but there was like no connection or performance to that Muse music. Honestly he could have done his choreography and moves to pretty much any music to a similar tempo.

He easily earned 100+ with those awesome jumps tho.

I like this program a lot more than at test skates! Still not a fan of the costume. Sparkly belt  but very solid, only turnout on 3A.
I do wish Mikhail would work a little bit more on shaping his hands. His carriage, posture, arms are all great but the hands are just kind of there most of the time. It would help with his expression, imo.

96.82, very good!

And following on from Morisi's paint splatter, we have Mikhail Kolyada who has what looks like a piece of white paper stuck to his left shoulder.

I wouldn't have thought of putting Muse and Kolyada together, but the music really suits him. I know it's early in the season, but based on what I just saw, I think it will be a good year for him.

Thank you ON for the live stream, but could you maybe cut down on all the logos and Clock and your insignia and the skater's name that takes up 1/5th of the screen? You make it hard to see anything through all the gunk.

ETA: LOL. As soon as I posted that the stream died. I'm not apologizing. Hmpf!

Yay Sean!!! :yahoo: That was gorgeous. I hope he places really well here, even if his tech content isn't high.

I'm glad Mikhail's finding his groove. Everything is there, and it seems like he's finally got all of the tools to put it together.
