2018 NHK Ladies Free Skate

I love that Mie Hamada doesn't care about the performances on the ice by her skaters. I imagine her saying something like: "the hard working, respectful skater should always win."

If it was up to her Satoko would be Olympic champ

By the way if the URs wasn’t called Satoko would have win this clearly because of the PCS. Her TES after the performance dropped aprrox. 6 points that means she would have got 148-149 which was enough for gold.

Whatever all top 3 was perfect. Bigg congrats to Liza and Satoko for making the GPF.

She didn't deserve the win anyway. 77 TES was criminal.

Men, this must have been quite an event! So sorry I didn’t manage to watch it live. I think I will be able to watch the Men, but I’m already scared for that lot...

Congrats all skaters! What a great competition, the top six or seven were so clean! And with a clean 3A showdown, so impressive. I do think Liza should have had the edge over Satoko for silver, but eh, whatareyougonnado? At least they're both locks for the GPF, for another showdown.

Ted Barton, Angel is now going to bed. Can't stay awake for Men.

I hope Liza and Mishin will take this as a wake-up call that the program is not designed to maximise points. There are at least 3-4 points on the table that can be easily gained by making some small changes to the layout.

Congratulations ladies!! It was amazing just amazing event! I was sure and I'm glad Rika redeemed herself and was as good as winners should be. Satoko was marvelous as always (except that new costume!).
And Mai...goodness I'm feeling so bad for her :( She's again out of the podium with two clean and good performances. Just unlucky with assignments as always.

Ladies so much to enjoy :hap10:
Satoko: I don´t care about the tiny jumps, that program is a wonder and I enjoy every second.
Liza: bringing a very different quality, she´s really selling it.
Rika: nailing her 3As  German eursport guys being totally surprised by her content

Totally. That's very old fashioned japanese way of thinking.

Rika struggling to hold all the stuff trophy flower shaking hands was so adorable :luv17:

I feel like a proud mom

After successful dance and pairs events and the breathtaking ladies, I’m getting the beers in and see you back at the Men’s.

I didn't comment because my stream was behind, but needless to say Rika's magnificent skate left me comatose from excitement :dbana: congrats on your gold, baby girl!! I can't wait for IdF even more now

I'm just really not okay with Miyahara above Liza. What are we saying about jump technique here? Don't bother trying to get your jumps right, just skate as pretty as possible and no-one will care.
