Satoko before the competition: she's not gonna get any calls, because it's japan and the jpn federation blablabla....

Satoko wins: OMG, her jumps are so bad, she barely leaves the ice, she can't win, most horrible judging ever

Satoko gets silver and has a 6 point reduction in TES: omg, Satoko's jumps are so bad, she can't win silver, she should have been fourth

Satoko is 4th: omg, they just called her 4 times, in my book she should get at least 6 calls and be 6th-8th

Satoko is 6th: she should just retire anyway

Satoko retires: she had good pcs but horrible jumps

:hslap:

And congrats for all the medalists, they were wonderful!!!!

:laugh2: Yup and the comparison with her and Liza totally works the other way when it comes to PCS. I don't see how anyone was robbed here. Great competition!

NHK has been great production-wise, but omo how many trinkets are they gonna saddle Rika down with :P at least they're very nice to look at.

In other words, you wouldn't be happy unless everyone was sunshine and daisies and the tech panel put on blindfolds when she jumped.

A spade's a spade and Miyahara has small, underrotated jumps with poor technique. End of story. I'm not going to apologise for calling it out.

Exactly... Anyway, the competition was beautiful, so much to be admired... Not hated. I love this podium, love my transition-less empress badass Liza, love my perfect artist-with-horrible-jumps Satoko and Rika was simply the best from both worlds...

That's the best GP ladies event that i've watched.
Rika, you're a boss! I'm glad to see a girl win by pure technical prowess and domination. That tech content beats tech contents of some guys.
Liza was on fire and is definetely Russian n0.2
Satoko was on fire.
Mai was on fire. But as always is the most unlucky girl in the world.

I would say Evgenia would be a lock in if she can win, Alina if she wins or podiums, Rika if she puts another display like tonight and outsider chance for Mako if she can hold it together and surprise us again like she did in Canada. A Russia vs Japan show down! :yahoo:

No. I don't care about technicall discussion, I actually like a lot. But people are selective. And repetitive. And tiring. But you can go on and on on the same old bs forever. It won't change anything anyway. It's just boring.

Not that Satoko isn't overscored on jumps (well, let's be real, her steps and spins are the creme de la creme, so the TES on those were justified), but people pretending like she isn't underscored on PCS continuously are funny. "Skating pretty" I have to laugh. Skating skills are not dropped from the sky - people have to practice and practice for so many years to get to her level - and most (if not all) current ladies are really not even close. Projection, refinement, performance - wow such easy skills am I right.

Poor Mai. :// I don't know what she could change in her training to get those medals.
Loved them all. Satoko wasn't on fire on her jumps, but was on fire with her artistry. Rika was breathtaking. But is it just me or she can improve her performance?
She surely was very concentrated on hitting those jumps today.

Liza is the best thing to happen in figure skating this season. Personality, beauty, skating, everything. She could have won silver, but it won't make a difference. Both her and Satoko will go to the GPF.

The audience nonstop applause/clapping to the music is so cute.

The Japanese are the best audience in the world. They bring flags for everyone. They are knowledgeable about the sport. They are unfailingly polite. They clap along. They have rhythm. They're down with it. :)

What more can you ask for?

What a wonderful competition!!!

It seems to me that Miyahara has corrected her jump issues (at least mostly) and the interpretation + choreography was just amazing...

Wonderful skate from Kihira: two triple axels and one in combination, WOW. And her presentation was great, too.

Tuktamysheva succeeded too, but it is soooo glaring that her music interpretation comes from hand gestures and not from whole body. And her transitions were overscored as usually.

I also liked Bell´s performance, it was beautiful. A pity that in sp she did not succeed so well.

What kind of saintly crowd... clapping in perfect unison... the flag bouncing... all while the girls get their photos taken to some very lovely instrumental music :drama: this surely makes up for Helsinki in spades!

Seriously!! Some people on here sound like a broken record already. I think we all get it—you hate Satoko; she can’t skate worth beans, and how dare she place second!

If anybody managed to come up with this result in the Predictions Game, they deserve a lot more than just a medal!

For those that were watching on Eurosport, don't change channel!!! Highlights of the Pairs FS is just starting!!!

After the mess of not having any LIVE coverage overnight, I hope they cut out all the adverts they were planning on showing and instead show as many of the partnerships as they can in the hour until the Men's FS starts.

EDIT: They started with #4. Tarah KAYNE / Danny O'SHEA, USA

Hope this helps.

I am actually proud of my 50 pts:)
