2018 Olympic Figure Skating Mens FS

Go-go Javi! Vamos!

good luck to all the men.

Have a wonderful time all. I am out tonight so I'll be coming home late and watching it on tape. I hope it doesn't get spoiled for me before I get home.

Well the man won.

Then that other man took second

And this other guy took third.

Ooops! I think I just spoiled it for you. My bad.

Watch the network prove me wrong. :(

It's ridiculous that NBC inconveniences the world to have these events at odd hours and then doesn't even show them live on the network station. I get that they wanted to show Mikaela but there were other events shown when they could have been showing live skating. They did not show Vincent, the reigning OBMist and OSMist, or the 5th place finisher in the segment. It was pretty bad.

If everyone stays at the same level as last night and Nathan and Mikhail improve I'll be perfectly happy. You see, I don't ask for much skating gods :dev2:

Here's what I hope:

1.Nathan Chen skates very well and ends up in the top 10.
2. Misha Ge skates very well and ends up in the top 10.
3. Adam Rippon skates very well and holds on to 7th place, maybe 6th.
4. Patrick Chan skates very well and leaves competitive skating with a standing O
5. The podium is gold Fernandez, silver Hanyu and bronze Uno

Keep in mind that Nathan is less than 3 points out of the top 10 and less than 8 points out of the final group. When you consider how wildly ranging the scores in the LP can in the men's competition, anything can happen!

Yet, I don't think he will get a medal and I'm preparing myself for the worst. We will see after the 1st jumping pass. I say this as a Nathan fan. :sad21:

Landed 3 of them in run trough, marked 4th

Agreed.

I am holding out some hope for better coverage tonight.

Man, do they have to just focus on one skater while they're doing run throughs?? Do I really need to watch Yuzu blowing his nose while everyone else is doing their programs??

I hope everyone skates well and we don't have a splatfest like in Sochi. Last night's SP was pretty thrilling for the Top 5 guys, can we dare to hope to have the same quality in the free? (And that Nathan gets some redemption on top of this?)

Shoma not changing anything, plans to open program with 4lo and 4F but skipped during run trough

I want Nathan to go out and enjoy himself. Skate as if he is the only person existing in the world, having the joy of doing the sport and having the talent to do it well. I want him to have a magical moment like Mao did for her FS in 2014. No matter what happens, I'd like him to know that people do care about him and wish him well.

Hoping for Yuzuru to win the gold again and for Javier to make the podium. I'll leave hope for the bronze spot open - there are a few people I might be happy to see reach it.

I feel like there may be a surprise. I'm going to predict that it will be: 1)Yuzuru Hanyu, 2)Shoma Uno, 3) Jin Boyang.

No one know who may be the gold between Yuzuru, Javier, Shoma and Bojang, but i really hope that tonight it may be one with a clean and memorable FS.
If i have to pick, i pray for Hanyu for the gold and Javier for any medal, leaving Jin and Aliev out of the podium, but Jin is really a great fighter.

One hour left :coffee: :handw: :cheer2:

Hanyu is trying 5 quads? I really wish he would dial it back to 4 quads he won't be beat if he lands 4 quads and skates clean.
