Poor Kolyada. I know it is skill too but today must be American New Year (oops unitentional pun). Nathan and Vincent did the jumps (I said jumps not programs0. And that is what will garner the points.

I hate to admit it, but I'm losing hope of Mikhail. He just can't compete under pressure anymore and gives up on selling his programs.

Elvis is not an easy program to sell when the jumps aren't there. :/

Mikhail Kolyada

Similar fall on his knee on the opening 4Lz. Solid 4T+3T though, much better, come on Kolyada! Nice bracket entry into the 3A+2T. Low and centered sit spin. Good energy and edgework through the step sequence. Got the landing of the second 4T with a slight tweak of the free leg. But a major pop of the 3A into a 1A, ouch. Step-out on the end of the 3Lz+1Lo+3S, and only a 2S with a two-foot landing. Tried for a second 3A but a fall. Decent combo spin and solid camel spin to end the program.

A mixed outing for Mikhail. The opening fall on the 4Lz is expected at this point. But the pops on the Axel and Salchow are going to hurt, and the fall on the 3A at the end was the nail in the coffin, so to speak. I did admire his portrayal of Elvis, or his own version of it. There's something about his bent elbows, though, that I felt distracted from his body line much of the time.

This young generation of Russian men are so exciting to me! Big difference in basics and style from the top skaters from the last quad.

Rough skate for Mikhail but he has time to work on it.

I feel the same way even though I am so happy for Chen and Zhou.

I really like Nathan as a person; don't know Vincent both are a little "flat" to be honest but I do like the guy but they don't have programs. Despite the Americans giving Nathan the boost, money for choreography and programs and more designer outfits than Johnny Weir has designer bbags but it doesn't move me. Great jumping especially by Nathan.

With the way things have been going I am beginning a prayer circle for Boyang and Aliev's PCS if they go clean.

He also does many Japanese shows, but he's always been a huge, huge fan of Russian culture and skaters and language, it's not a secret and not just money for him
