2018 Olympic Figure Skating Mens SP

Vincent Zhou

Wonderful 4Lz+3Trippon (3T looks <). Step-out on the 4F, looks under-rotated on first viewing (but didn't by the judges, surprised there). Alright flying camel spin with nice catchfoot position. A bit forward on the 3A. Improved expression and deeper edges through the step sequence. Nice back entry into the spin. Well-centered final combo spin.

A nice skate that should be strong technically even if he gets dinged. I'm glad he was able to express the music better than I've seen before. Better spins and depth of edge as well. That should get him into the third group or deeper for the free.

Considering how he normally performs, that was not bad. Vincent is not my favorite type of skater. But, he is getting better. I can see that he is making effort to improve his basic skating skills and his performance.

I have a soft spot for Vincent. He tries so hard and is learning to express himself as best as his 17 year old self is able.

Vincen'ts 84.53 is a legit EXACTLY 4 point increase over his previous personal best score.

Not a bad score at all! Definitely going to qualify, although I didn't doubt it would in the first place.

I'd love to see Denis put together a great skate. Seems like it's been a while.

Awh. I totally agree, there's something completely sincere in his skating.
