2018 Olympic Figure Skating Mens SP

Well, I couldn't have both of my favorites do amazingly well. But Dima skating well is so satisfying after the endless hype for Milquetoast and Dima being virtually ignored. If he gets higher PCS with his usual performance...ugh

I think only 3 or 4 missed Quads though

Quads have been mostly good today

But like you said, the Quad heavy final group's coming up
so that could change but hopefully not (Knock on wood!!!)

Surprisingly, and that's good. Final group beckons.

Now I'm feeling the nerves for Yuzuru. I was calm until now, but now... :eeking: I have faith in him, but am still scared.

So sad to see that Chafik won't make the FS. I know he telegraphs his jumps for the length of the rink and doesn't have the world's most brilliant skating skills, but he's such a fun performer and I love his choppy energy and personality. I'll miss his roll-sleeved Godfather in the free.

Extremely happy for Bychenko, though!

I hope Nathan does well, especially after that practice, but if Hanyu opens strong, all I can see is the look of “I’m not going to make it” defeatism he had entering his first jumping pass before each fall. And then he just seemed afraid of even attempting to jump.

Either way, I’m holding my breath until he lands the 3A.

4 years ago in Sochi a score of 60 guaranteed you a spot in the free. This year you need a 74. #progress

Feeling sad for Denis, Julian and MCM.

is it really progress or are the judges just getting crazy stupid with the scores? :scratch2:

or are there extra elements, new higher element base values, or something else that makes the scores higher? Because it seems like the splatting is even worse if possible so the scores shouldn't be going up
