Solid skate by Shoma - Well done! I liked this performance better than 4CC, but he still really doesn't do it for me as a skater. There's something very 'put-on' about his performance, and I hate his jumping technique. I hope that he does not get much in terms of GOE on his jumps.

Why are people saying Nathan got no credit for his 4T? He did. His 4Lz was called as a +COMBO, he got significantly negative GOE on both and the base value deduction for missing a combo, but he did get some points for both quads.

Until the end of his program it was marked as X but after it was changed

So we were duped

It took me a while toget caught up. Yuzuru is amazing nerves of steel; so focussed; Aliev part of the inconsistent sometimes amazing Russians, Kolyada the other side. Adam was solid bravo. But Nathan I feltso sorry. Patrick still struggling sitll not fully himself oh it is the battle of the Japanese. Shoma and hanyu. Shoma is a bit lucky saving jumps. Clean No one S and M clean but it is so hard. Oh my Paddy might make the final flight who would have thought. And who would think the second Canadian would be ahead of Nathan 9who i have faith will come back and still maybe podium - a S and M skate? Its not possible two years in a row that Nathan would lose to Chan. Chan has nothing to compete witht he big boys. Hanyu is boss.

Hey I finally got to tune in and Shoma was just starting and that was all types of fierce!! He wouldn’t let the jumps get away from him. Wow!! Awesome skate to say the least!!! I really like his SP and what he brings to the field.

Got that 4F out fairly well! Strong flying camel spin with good positions. Wonderful dimension and shape in his footwork sequence. Solid 4T+3T right in the second half! Strong save on the spread eagle right into the 3A and spread eagle out. And a strong pair of spins to finish!

Not as technically brilliant as he could be with those landings, but wow, what a fantastic performance! Definitely his best rendition of this Winter program with plenty of attention to detail and being patient with the phrasing of the music, letting it come to him before he gently throws it away or emphasizes it. Lots of light and shade throughout the program. Stirring!

Just to clarfiy...you still get credit for two solo jumps right? So what's the who deal of HAVING to do a combo

Shoma was smooth, but the jumps man. I just can't...prerotated, underrotated, scratchy, and he still gets +1 to +2 GPE?

(Though Yuzuru should still be well ahead)

no you still got point. The jump will get BV reduction and +COMBO in protocols and also the same GOE with fall (-3/4) even if its just a stepout. On the other hand if you pop your solo jump to single/double it will get 0 point and deemed as invalid element
