Well, apart from Adam and some other skaters I heart this Men's event has lost it's luster for me. I wish I could stop thinking about that sweet little boy saying he was going to the 2018 Olympics 'I think'.

My heart has been broken like this before. Christopher Bowman, Kurt Browning, other great ones who often skated great but when it came to the Olympics they could just not reach that podium. I feel for Nathan so. All of those major endorsements, the Vera Wang costumes, the hair cut, all that hype. Other teen sensations could handle it but obviously Nathan could not. It's so strange though. He has such a calm demeanor.

I hope Nathan has a Mao Asada moment in the FS. I'll console myself a little with the fact that Nathan is an Olympic medallist. At least he won't go home with nothing but sad memories.

I hate to say Nathan, Shoma, Mikhail were all quite flat or uninspired despite Shoma's jumps. Yuzuru and Patrick better performers so far.

I think a medal is almost impossible now but I hope both he and Mikhail skate beautifully and are able to experience personal redemption.
