2018 Olympic Figure Skating Mens SP

Final count!!

Men's SP SPLATFEST Tally:
Stayed on their feet!: 19 :agree:
Fell on their butt: 11 :drama:

I think Boyang has grown a lot as a performer. He really was truly awful before. Nathan had about 41 PCS, this should get more.

I am so so so SO proud of him!!! He has improved so much since he debuted as a senior three years ago. There’s still some work to do for his PCS, but you definitely can’t deny he’s been obviously working at it. :cheer:

Wow. Adam in 7th. If someone falters he could end up finishing in top 6. Just wow. Who would have predicted that finish order of US men?

Boyang Jin

Extra high 4Lz+3T with a tight 3T but still rotated. Clean 4T close to the board but well done. Good camel spin. Solid 3A as well. Brilliant spin through a pair of spins. Very athletic step sequence with strong edges and hitchkicks. What a brilliant technical performance!

Never count out Boyang Jin! He has captured bronze twice for a reason. His jumps were fantastic today and his expression was deeper and more internalized than even his short program performance at 4CC. The judges should give him the PCS with this, but I'm not sure if they'll go with it. I think he should get around 100.

Jin following the Great Tradition of Chinese Skating: get your tech to jaw dropping levels, then master the artistry. Not mastered yet, but...

He's come so far.
