2018 Olympic Figure Skating Pairs SP

Wasn't it nice of the announcer to take time off her regular job as a bowling alley DJ to entertain us all during Zamboni Breaks?

"THAT'S RIGHT! NEXT SONG IS LADIES CHOICE! AND REMEMBER, WITH EVERY 3 GAMES YOU GET A 10% DISCOUNT ON YOUR 4TH! RACK 'EM UP AND KNOCK 'EM DOWN! WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

:dance3:

Gosh, it's too early for ice-resurfacing animation show. Just go back to your cruise ship, this is giving me a headache. :ddevil:

OMG just got home for this!

Gotta catch up on Harley & Katia first!

Go Team North Korea in the up-coming group!

The IOC sells it to the highest bidder. NBC has won it for so many years that I've almost quit complaining about it. I don't know if other networks bother bidding on it anymore. I highly preferred ABC's coverage, which dates me as I expect many viewers weren't even born the last time ABC aired an Olympics.

I missed the ABC of old so much. That was how it should be done. The thing is, I think the IOC totally didn't even let the other networks bid, don't know if they were lazy. I read that in an article somewhere. Oh well. What can we really do anyway.

Never mind, just got my answer. The commentator on this stream also says this was the first time he saw the cheerleaders move.

I know we've been discussing how NBC's schedule has obviously created issues, and there's no doubt it has. But IIRC the tickets weren't selling for a lot of sports, right? I thought the news outlets were discussing how the political climate was making a lot of people uneasy about going. I mean, it's not like there's not enough figure skating fans in the world to fill a single arena, even at 10am. But I do think a lot of people were understandably wary about relations with NK--the last few months have been a bit hairy.

Yes, that is true. Some South Koreans are upset that they have a joint hockey team. But, obviously not all. Did you here that amazing roar for the North Korean team? Also, I think that the tickets are extremely expensive. You are not going to spend a large amount of money for an event at 10 am unless you are a hardcore fan!
