2018 Olympic Figure Skating Team Event Day 2

Virtue and Moirs SP music should not qualify as a Latin origin. Just because it is modified to have the beats to Rhumba, it shouldnt be considered as Latin American Rhythms.

I don't mean to be mean of course. But please, ENOUGH with this, pretty pleeeease. The "That's not Latin" is annoying me, it is Ballroom Latin which means maybe 2 or 3 teams this year have a PROPER latin SD. Ballroom ? EVERYONE. Come on.

There's sometimes a fine line between arrogance and confidence, but hey, whatever they're doing it's working, more power to them

... but this 'fine line' regarding difference between arrogance and confidence, or any other distinction is usually based on our personal perception of things, experience or just plain preferrence. Faces, gestures are always up to people's judgement, not exactly an objective one, like pretty much some of FS scores. But yeah, whatever they are doing, let it be working on their best profit.

Actually, rethinking it, I'd have C/L in 3rd. B/S were sloppy. Not just a missed choctaw from B, but it looked like a big balance check from S in one of the step sequences.

There, I feel better for having said that.

They are always majorly sloppy, but maybe they get bonus points for speed? However, IMHO, that SD is as fugly as they get. I don't know why Zhulin didn't give them a better one a long time ago. Shibs were a little tight tonight, they're going to let it fly come individual competition. I actually thought C/L were better than B/S tonight. I don't get the judges low balling them AGAIN. UGHH!

Well, personally I prefer the Shibs' free dance :) But I uber them, and having them out there makes me nervous because I know there are a few fans (not you, and not most, but a few) ready to tear them down if they make a mistake.
I love the shibs too but I also think strategically that it's a better chance at higher medal if we keep bradie in... also the free dance of chock and Bates has scored higher then the shibs all season

Anyone has any links before the ladies start? Some of the links early in the thread are showing other sports!

I don't see anybody jumping down anybody's throat. People are as free to defend a skater as others are free to diss them.

I'm all about being free to criticize anyone's skating, but dumb comments about someone's facial expressions in the k&c are really silly.

So I finally got myself up off the couch, look over in the direction of the bathroom and am struck with the evidence that sometime during the event, my dog snuck over there and took a dump on the floor in the hallway.... I can't make this crap up, guys. :tantrum: :palmf:

Did Tanith say that the Shibs dance was "cheesy, with over the top facial expressions by Maia?"

Anyway, it was touch and go for a minute, but Maia and Alex did their jobs and didn't give away any placement points with their second place.

I'd be more concerned with the judging. They brought it today and are still barely ahead of BoboSol of the country formerly known as Russia. :disapp:

That's exactly what I'm calling them! The country formerly know as Russia!

I think It's really the local time of the events that's preventing more fun in the K&C (thank you NBC).
I hate NBC it could have been so epic in local prime time as it’s the case for short track (and so much better for us in France :sad21: )

Shibs will be fine. C/B have also struggled during the season. Yes, C/B were wonderful at nationals, but not during the entire year

Gosh the tired have just hit and they have hit hard. I finally managed some food after rescuing the pasta I'd left boiling too long and was sticking to the bottom quite a bit. Unfortunately the pause has got me yawning *shakes fist*
