2018 Olympic Figure Skating Team Event Day 2

I am now eating parmesan cheese.

I wanted something savory and didn't have time to cook anything lol.

I'd be more concerned with the judging. They brought it today and are still barely ahead of BoboSol of the country formerly known as Russia. :disapp:

This deeply irks me. Deeply. They should have been much closer to C/L, who should have been scored above them. Period.

... but this 'fine line' regarding difference between arrogance and confidence, or any other distinction is usually based on our personal perception of things, experience or just plain preferrence. Faces, gestures are always up to people's judgement, not exactly an objective one, like pretty much some of FS scores. But yeah, whatever they are doing, let it be working on their best profit.

Oh yeah, no doubt it's just my perception. I know we only see about five minutes of a skater's entire life, I (as well as most anyone else on the forum, I assume) don't really know him on a personal level. That's why I used the word "seem", I definitely don't pretend to know him. Heck, he's probably a really interesting dude to hang out with! :)

I'm all about being free to criticize anyone's skating, but dumb comments about someone's facial expressions in the k&c are really silly.

Why should we not be allowed to comment on how skaters present themselves in the K&C?

Virtue and Moirs SP music should not qualify as a Latin origin. Just because it is modified to have the beats to Rhumba, it shouldnt be considered as Latin American Rhythms.

People modify music to fit the short dance rhythms all the time. I cannot think of a single skater/team that has not altered music rhythmically at one point to suit the count for the patterns. It is not limited to only Latin, it happens for waltzes, polkas, etc. IIRC, P/C had added in drums to suit the count for the waltzes in the SD in 2015-16 so it's something that teams at the highest levels all do.

Omg when I was a kid, I used to sneak into the kitchen and steal the bottle of powdered parmesan cheese and eat a lot of it. Not even the actual cheese but the powdered!

So I finally got myself up off the couch, look over in the direction of the bathroom and am struck with the evidence that sometime during the event, my dog snuck over there and took a dump on the floor in the hallway.... I can't make this crap up, guys. :tantrum: :palmf:

Oh gosh. RIP SS.

This is good quality shaved parm, not the cardboard stuff :P

You can't make this crap up...but your dog can.

I'm mildly worried because the day before we had a clogged toilet and the men ... got stuck .... and the ladies are coming up and now we have an accident on the floor ....

Latin origin is different from Latin rhythms. Dancers can perform any of the ballroom dances to non-Latin music so long as it matches the specified beat of the Latin selection. And I believe ice dancers choosing different kinds of music to traditional ballroom is a very good thing, lending more room for choreography and interpretation.

I mean, one of my favorite short dances is Gilles and Poirier's waltz to the Beatles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVR6lnGLM58
