2018 Olympic Figure Skating Team Event Day 2

Bradie is judged fairly imo, it's just people are too used with PCS being handed out when the skater is consistent or being a national champion of few country... so people expect Bradie to get more PCS and being in 70's club. Now Bradie didn't get PCS boost by being US champ people got mad lol. she already got extra 2 points from her SkAm SP where she got 28 PCS. Mirai would get slightly more than Bradie here (~31 like she get in GP, maybe 32 if she land nice 3A) and Karen probably the same with Mirai.

I feel like yeah she did get a little bit of a boost here. Maybe this is a crazy opinion but I don't think Tennell is a better skater than Choi in every category?

Especially not with the way Choi skated today, though, I do give Bradie the TES.

I am awake, so going to re-post this with the proper details.

Hope this helps.

I won't be watching LIVE as I haven't seen the SP yet (I was concentrating on catching up on ski sports yesterday). So, if the weather improves, I'll be watching my local Olympian, snowboarder Aimee Fuller, in the Women's Slopestyle Qualification instead.

:cheer: ALL THE BEST EVERYBODY!!! :cheer:

If Bradie is judged fairly, then all the other skaters should be too. PCS is too much smoke and mirrors.

The pairs free is making this so anti-climatic. You can just handed out those placements right now without doing the actual competition. That's how predictable this is. The only intrigue is whether Knierems suddenly decide to land all their quads and win the night or not. My bet is on no.

Ridiculous scoring.
Osmond combination could not possibly be valid. She not only touched the ice, she stroke the ice, but redecided and made a turn. This must have been counted as
3f-COMBO; then the underrotated 3T must have been counted as a solo jump, and then her 3fLz must have been not considered. Her real score would have been 60+.

In turn, Miyahara was ridiculously underscored. Her PCS must have been close to Caro and Med, and def. not behind Osmond. She had an outstanding performance of an outstanding program. The choreo and level of polishness was on the same level as Med's. Absolutely disagree was two carrots; if any, it could be one on 3t, but to me it all looked within the limits.

Da bin - same. Great performance, beautiful program and jumps. She is not a junior skater, and not a debut-maker, why the heck her PCS are so low? Her skating skills improved the mile. She should have been above Osmond.

With all the discussions now about the us ladies, I'm sad that Gracie didn't fulfill her potential.:sad21:
I feel nothing while watching Tennell.

You never know. Ice is slippery

...but, yeah, probably

So exactly as I predicted, Bradie placed behind the others even when they made mistakes. Totally wrong decision to put her in this event. Karen had the ability to go above Osmond and Miyahara, Team USA threw away a chance at a higher medal.

Haha. Karen's highest score on the grand prix this year was 61.77. She has been falling a great deal in practice. Could she have gotten a better score than Tennell here... Anything is possible, but results should matter not potential when choosing for an event like this. Tennell produces results

Turns and turns in between jumps count as a combo if there is no weight shift, I think.

You are allowed one-turn on the ice and the free foot **can** touch so long as the weight didn't shift. They made the correct call. The rule should be changed.

I love how we all treat this event as just a silly game designed to figure out if our personal favorites are gonna win the thing we care about lol

How do you figure we all treat this event the same way? I happen to have respect for nations with talents and competitiveness across all disciplines. Olympics come around once every 4 years and the nations' standings can change drastically. Canada has the star veterans around to contribute to and share this probably glory which will mean a lot to them as Canadians and as long time friends. And most of them will retire after this and the competitive landscape will be completely different. Which will be the figure skating power nation in 2022 is completely open to wild speculation.
