How about if everyone gets PCS according to the categories that they are supposed to be scored in and their individual abilities - not because of age, reputation, etc.

I don't see that happening because there are categories that are subjective. The problem with PCS is it's a combination of objective and subjective. I think that's why PCS comes across as arbitrary.

It was not a turn. And her leg touched. And I don't know where you get it that it "CAN" touch. But even then, the weight shifted, it was almost like a single jump. It was very clear.

It's in the technical handbook. "One full revolution on the ice between the jumps (free foot can touch the ice, but no weight transfer) keeps the element in the frame of the definition of a jump combination."

I disagree that the weight shifted, and so did the tech caller. It was a reasonable call they made based on the rules, you are free to disagree with that though.

Well, I saw Evgenia's program. Extremely boring and backloaded. Her spin was not anchored and she drifted noticeably along the ice while performing it. She had several ugly and unfinished positions. Her deceleration into jumps is hard for me to watch.

On the plus side, she has extremely fast acceleration. Her jumps and especially landings were solid. Exit flow adequate although nothing remarkable.

It is a shame that is a world record program.

Well said! The 3 last skaters were all over-scored.

Yes, I love her too. I fairness though I have heard from friends that seeing her in person is not nearly as amazing as watching her on TV. She just doesn't have the power that Carolina Kostner/ Katelyn Osmond do and that can have a much larger impact in person,

However, I think her interpretation of music mark so always get 10's. She and Carolina are on another level in this regard compared to the other skaters.

Actually, Satoko is even more breathtaking in person.

I am not sure she deserves high GOE's on everything but neither did some of the girls who got them.

Really, Japan, USA, OAR, and Korea should appeal that judging of Osmond. It was against the rules to count that as a combination.

They don't go by your rules at the Olympics or any ISU event.

EVgenia: Jumps are back and strong. Spins are fine, but not that spectacular to get a +3 imo. Steps are slow, not up to the tempo of the music nor does it match the phrase. Program is fine, heartbeats and the murmur is still pointless, I don't see any 9s in composition or interpretation. She had better interpretation in the past.

Carolina: Wonderful as usual. Her step sequence is what a step sequence is supposed to be.

Kaetlyn: Looked nervous on the combo and the jumps are wilder than usual. Ok program, still not a fan of this over the top Edith Piaf music though.

Satoko: Best program along with Carolina's, the Lutz was honestly good enough, PCS should also be much higher, deserve more than 36.
