Kazuki Tomono has lovely feeling for the music. He really listens to the phrasing and uses his ability to accelerate and decelerate to reflect the notes. And to continue the streak going, he had a gorgeous 4S and a strong 3F+3T as well. Only mistakes were a hand-down on the 3A and some struggles on the spins with speed and position.

I can’t wait to see this programme later in the season, when it’s been even further refined. I think it could be something quite special. Tomono has that “it” factour. StSq2 and hand down on the 3A, but the other jumps looked clean, and we’re doing better than Hanyu on the spins! Beautiful edges, absolutely effortless flow across the ice... Japan has a very solid men’s team.
