2018 US Championships Sr Men FS

I am glad for Adam I just wished that he was on the the podium then I would
not have such a bad taste in my mouth. That said it is what it is time for
me to move on to the Ice Dance competition. GO Shibs!

Detroit might be an easier trip for me with family in the area and free place to stay but I’m starting to think GPF in Vancouver is going to be better trip next season. USFSA already gets enough of my money

"I'm honored to be their father." LOLOL

Full quote, per Jackie Wong:

Chen: I train w him every day. I definitely wouldn't be the skater that I am without him by my side Zhou: Adam is really deserving & we know he's a fighter Rippon: I'm so excited that my 2 sons are doing so well and I'm happy to be their father

Wow, it’s a real stinger for Miner not to even be named 1st alternate to the Olympic team and behind Jason Brown with no quad and no reliable 3Axel. That is the real disgrace! USFSA plays a very ugly, shady game!!

Also via Jackie:

Nathan Chen: Props to Raf for being able to create an environment that is competitive and super friendly. We are all just trying to make him happy, to be honest.

Wow. Adam is so humble. :bed:

"i know everybody thinks i have a big mouth [..] but i wear my heart on my sleeve. i say those things because sometimes my sense of humor gets me through the hard situations. i know i’m not the best skater, but i think i’m pretty good, so..."

he is self-aware. pretty ridiculous to expect anything more (and really not anyone's place to be the judge of how humble an athlete should be anyway).

First, I thank Jason for the few years he gave me joy. That said, Nathan, Ross and Vincent should have been selected to be on the team. Adam did not perform well last night. All the guys worked hard for the moment. This is worse decision than 4 years ago when Mirai was passed over for Ashley. Ross was a silver medalist! I always thought the Gymnastics selection committee was brutal, but USFSA was worse!

Wow USFSA really compensated with the quadsmeisters from a quad ago.

Great choices... Nathen, Adam, Vincent (great experience). I couldn't be more pleased for them... they also showed heart by giving their vet the endorsement he needs/ deserves for putting much hard work but just had an unfortunate skate.

Adam and Mirai off to the Olympics :) Mum and Pap mentoring the kids  (Oh boy I feel old!!)

I do have to give credit to Ross though... that was an amazing Queens skate moment I won't ever forget! Josh Ferris of 2018!!! Be proud!!! :)

More from twitter:

Todd Eldredge - "@Adaripp is a young man at 28, I was 30 in my final season so would that have made me a grandfather! You’ll be amazing #PapaRippon"

Adam Rippon: I remember seeing Nathan skate (in 2012) and say, oh damn, well I'll be retired when he's senior. I guess the joke's on me because I'll be skating forever.
