2018 US Championships Sr Men SP

Who knew that so many years later, the triple axel would still be such an issue for skaters?

Judging errors should be pointed out as long as the commentator is rational about it and isn't so over the top

I seriously don't need another "What a disgrace, I'm so ashamed of our sport" moment :hslap:

skating can't afford to bleed anymore fans in the US

I disagree. I think it's ridiculous that such an egregious error could have made it past the entire technical panel, the data operator, the replay operator, the referee, and all of the judges before his score was announced. It shouldn't be happening at the nation's most prominent competition, especially in a year when there's so much on the line, and in a sport that is already known for sometimes questionable officiating.

I enjoy to say it, but errors like these happen. They happened at GP. I’ve seen the scores adjusted after the fact. The problem is it makes the organization lose face. It’s important, but it could’ve handled better.

Sean!!! :luv17::love::love:

I just love him. Thank you for skating clean. And thank you for your sparkling personality. I just want to give him a hug. (Might be the wine speaking...)

Tim looks good in the warm up......They all look good. Good luck Alex, Alexei, Sean and me Junior....Emmanuel.

Your Junior:laugh: didn’t you say Mr Rice that you had a fro like Emmanuel’s? And he’s from UDel, closest “major” rink to me.
Go Emmanuel!

Sean looked so happy in that performance, I love it. Here's hoping for a nice score

Also, he liked my Instagram post once, so....there's that.

Just what we need, Sean Rabbitt...please give us something to smile about.

I only see Sean one competition a year, but always come away feeling great watching him. Such positive, sincere and hard working energy vibe from him. It is like Jason brown without the inflation or the hockey pockey.

Very nice and fluid performance from Sean Rabbitt. No quad and 3A, but it was still nice to watch.

How is it unprofessional? Furthermore, how is the judging "painful to millions of people?"

It’s not. My autocorrect has been out of control, since I updated my IPad. I start typing and random word are inserted in my text. I normally catch them. Painful never should’ve been in the sentence.

Sean Rabbit nearly reached Max's TES, even though he does 2 Axel, and no quad. Phew.

But Michael is right ... Sean is the highlight of the night so far. He loves what he's doing ... and he's doing WELL what he's capable of doing. He makes me so happy to watch him!

Heartbreaking interview with max on tv just now...he said he knew after the second mistake that his Olympic chances were over and the tears started rolling down his face...omg my heart. I don't want to believe it's over for him....

I hope he is able to find it in his heart to say, no way - this is not how I am going to finish this year and skates for himself with all his heart in free to finish with his head held high like Mao Asada did.
