2018 US Championships Sr Men SP

Every song by Mumford and Sons sounds the same. Blah.

But great job, Tim!! :yahoo: I’m loving this group, finally things are picking up!

Great job from Tim! He's had this program for forever but it's such a good fit for him I almost don't care (and can't blame him either)!

I'm referring to his over-the-top posturing and haughtiness.

Huh...we’re definitely not watching the same skater. I see good old fashioned working hard and I love me some Alexei:luv17:

And as a person and in interviews, he is as down to earth and acknowledging of others as they come.

Alexei in the KnC is the best.

I don't think he's cocky. He had a really great interview on the JGP where Ted asked him if he was watching Jospeh Phan skate right before him to see what he had to do to win and he said that no, he was just watching because he wanted to see Joseph do well. He said he was hoping Joseph would get his quad and that he had a great skate and has improved a lot, so Alexei knew he had to quite improving too to keep up. It was very sweet and he seemed super genuine.

Besides, they went above 80, so he wasn't over-estimating. And he had gotten 80+ internationally this season.

So true. I remember when I first saw Alexei skate in the JGP Riga on livestream, he had his first of many K&C moments that made me laugh.

And true. And I remember watching a press conference after the men's FP at the 2017-18 JGPF, when asked what skaters he wants to be like, he said he only wants to be himself but take aspects of ways some others skated. Which I loved that answer. Because that how I myself carried myself. Like I never looked up to anyone or had a role model. I tried to be myself and myself only.

Good for Tim! He's one of the most artistic and musical skaters, with beautiful spins and skating skills.

I’ve never liked this song, but Tim. Tim’s spins. Tim’s skating.:agree:

What the heck, I just like Tim:)

He is only 17, give him some time. I'd say he is on his way.

Look...I don't think you have any idea how hard it is to be an elite athlete at that young age. If he doesn't believe in himself, who will. He needs that self confidence to get through the lonely times he spends away from his friends training and traveling.
