Some quick thoughts.

1. Poor poor Max - I know he wanted a shot at the Olympics now he has a lot of ground to catch up; it may be too late or he may be too far behind. I just feel for the guy.
2. Yay for Grant you sort of forget him (and his wife/fiancée too Zhang). Good for him but I think it will still be hard for him to make it but ice is slippery.
3. Okay this is more than national inflation with pcs with Chen but as he is favored or co favored for OGM you can see why this is done. Still I think it is wrong to think he is of the level of Hanyu or Chan.
4. The men are really going for it; I wonder if Jason will go for the quad??? Mind you the judges love him so mu ch it doesn't matter for the short especially.

That is one of the most glorious short programs I've ever seen. And he's just totally passionate in his commitment to it! Congratulations on that skate! I was blowing kisses to the computer screen ... could not help myself!

I don't agree either, but technically he's won everything he's entered this year...so if they are just looking in the win column, he is the best skater in the world right now. no one has beaten him.
don't hate the costume, kind of like it (I"m a G/G fan), but don't get why it was so hyped...

You get warm really fast when your skating. Ladies skate in far less.

But the different hair and suit change the swagger of the performance. I don’t understand what Vera was going for.

I'm aware of that as I skate too, but if you actually have a fever maybe it helps? Never skated quads when sick, lol.

I don't get the surprise over Nathan's Vera Wang costume being simple and understated.

After all, it worked for the last US Olympic champion.

Nathan doesn't strike me as a frills and sequins and embroidery and puffy sleeves and all that craziness slapped onto an outfit. He lets the outfit be secondary to the skating, because that's how HE wants to skate.
