2018 US Championships Sr Men SP

Wait i figured it out... Nathan's costume is an abstract Adidas ad! Look at it... three white strips on black... 100% stealth Adidas advertisement!

You can leak this info to Olympics committee and they will ban this costume for the no-advertisement rule.

For those of us with dead streams...Can you give us a score update? What was Nathan's score?

did he need to go to Vera Wang for this, though? He could have shopped where Patrick Chan does to get something similar to this...

What Uniglo? Maybe go higher end with Lululemon? Or sure Adidas? Oh Vera we know you love understated but underwhelmed is not good! Still he has the jumps and that is what counts.

I'm glad that despite the jump issues that Scott stuck around. Beautiful skater and at least he did not subject us to the Celine Dion version of the song. (low-key shading my girl Caro here)

I don't get the surprise over Nathan's Vera Wang costume being simple and understated.

After all, it worked for the last US Olympic champion.

Nathan doesn't strike me as a frills and sequins and embroidery and puffy sleeves and all that craziness slapped onto an outfit. He lets the outfit be secondary to the skating, because that's how HE wants to skate.

The problem is that the last thing he skated in was also simple and understated and also much better than this.

Some of Nathan's costumes have been pretty glitzy to go with his poufy hair. Doesn't matter he has the jumps.

I think Nathan could probably come out during the freeskate and take a nap on the ice and still win.

I think, if you can pull that off and convince the judges to give you top scores, you deserve to win. I always support naps.

104, which is hardly as inflated as the drama queens on this forum would like to believe.

And, yes, Nathan *is* on Hanyu's level at this point in time. Hanyu is overrated as to skating skills/transitions/composition, and a little bit in interpretation. Chan is in another league to them both.

Surely there is a middle ground between that and boring, basic clothes. Plenty of men dress nicely without "frills and sequins". The other point is why hype up the fact that Vera Wang designed some special costume when there's really nothing special about it at all?

Oh wow that set-up for the 3A took a whole rink and a half. I thought he was going to just skate right past the jump.

Nathans costume has a very G and G moonlight sonata costume throwback look to it.

ANother No me Quitte pas. I love Carolina’s version, but I’m really tired of this song.
I love that song so much. I memorized the lyrics and learned to sing it last month during the GPF. LOL

But dude used a weird version and then cut it to pieces.
