In Juvenile Dance, Olivia Ilin/Dylan Cain took the lead with 40.88 points. Olivia is already quite the diva---remember her name.

I hope Lindsay Thorngren will do well in the free as well.

Fyi. Ever since she has been a juvie, she has tried lots of big jump combinations but she has a tendanacy to under-rotate them. Whether or not this plan is beneficial depends on who is technical specialist and how strict a caller they are. Fyi. At Regionals, she got called on 2 under-rotations in the short and 3 in the long.

Good luck to Lindsay and the rest of the intermediates this afternoon.

Junior free dance just finished. 139.34 for the Browns, and 164.75 for the Greens. I'm sorry the Browns didn't score higher, but I'm absolutely thrilled the Greens have hit the ground running after their absence earlier in the season.

Looking at the protocols, it looks like they made a costly mistake on their lift. But they scored well in their other elements. Glad to see the Greens looking good.

Oh, that would explain it. I only looked at the protocols for the RD and not the FD.

If you have NBC Sports Gold you can watch the RD and FD on there. Yep, the Browns came down early from their lift. I was extremely impressed by their skating skills and Oona's performance ability.

The Greens looked good, just much taller than I remember ;)

Lindsay won the Intermediate ladies! She did a 3-3 again but was called on 4 under-rotations.

Isabeau got 2nd.

She's still in the Intermediate category, I'm not yet worried about all those UR calls. If her every protocol were to be still plagued with multiple of those when she's junior then that would be a bad sign, but young girls may not yet have enough power to jump high enough or rotate fast enough to fully rotate and that's understandable. What's important is the skater and her coach recognize and address the UR issue and take it seriously in their preparation for the skater's future, and the tech panel calling what should be called is only a good thing for them. (Just a note - I wrote a comment about the need for Lindsay and her coach to work on the UR issue together with my good luck wish on her Regional video on YT and Lindsay replied to me with thank you, so she understands it.)

And congrats to her for winning both the short and the free. :)

I'm just going to say that is really cold here. Really. Junior ladies was wonderful to see in person. Audrey's leg wrap looks better.

Ting fell on her combo. I watched her hit it over and over in practice clean and this was the only one that she didn't nail.
