2019 European Championships Ladies Free Skate

Well ... Door's wide open for Samodurova.

I've never been Alina's biggest fan, but every time I watch her I do appreciate individual parts of her skating more and more. Her spins especially, I love. That charlotte-2A is just divine. It's almost a shame that she got her rep for being a jumper last season, because there's a lot to like about her skating even when the jumps don't work. Hope she can stabilize as her growth spurt ends, get those jumps back as her skating matures.

Well I am confident Japan could even sweep. I really was hoping Alina was surviving puberty; I don't think it is the pure pressure (other than the pressure of doing well while fighting puberty). Technique and all. So sad; It's possible we could even have no russian lady on the podium. - Oh I guess that's impossible with the no of skaters left. One russian lady would get a bronze at least.

Not a meltdown, but another mistake-filled skate. Could Samodurova take gold?

Has Alina been injured? A lot of the program looked uncharacteristically labored.

That's the excuse she gave at GPF and Nationals. At this point I think all the pressure of being the OGM is getting to her. Especially since she's gone through a growth spurt.

Can we at least get thru this event first...thanks ;)

What a shame. And she has such a great double axel entry in the program this season. Very challenging and interesting.
