2019 World Championships Pairs Short Program

When they landed the jumps cleanly I started to imagine a pairs event starting off with a clean program. Then she faceplanted on the throw, so that dream died.

So many empty seats?! At a competition in Japan? At Worlds? :eeking:

In Japan, of all places, I'd expect to find tons of people who bought all-event tickets but have no interest in pairs (and possibly also dance).

Also, this is fairly early in the competition.

So I hope they skate it to its fullest potential.

Yeah, but first flight of pairs ... categorically the least sought after ticket in Japan, especially since Suzaki/Kihira aren't here. Which, does anyone know why? They weren't at 4CC either.

Shame about the fall, but R/K are looking better all the time when it comes to their overall skating and presentation.

At the past two Worlds, it felt like nearly every pair did a clean or near-clean SP. So we're not off to a good start here. A shame because Ryom/Kim have had a lot of success with this SP in previous years. It must be difficult to keep the same program for so long honestly.

No, they haven’t been back to Canada since before the olympics.
