2019 World Championships Pairs Short Program

Black Jumpsuit Count: 3/19

Not usually a fan of covers (other than Hazy Shade of Winter by the Bangles), but this was a pretty fun program!

l like Walsh/Michaud, but their twist is scary as always...

Can you guys imagine what would happen if Rod Black and Tara Lipinksi has a commentary baby? Perhaps ironic hilarity would trump genetics, and the baby would be good at his or her job?

I was going to say Tat and Johnny first, but then remembered she coached him, so that’s weird. Not like this entire topic is weird, or anything... ooof.

Very nice! Solid World's debut :)

----> but some iffy twists from all the teams today....

Good job Canada! Nice! So happy for them.

Who thinks Trennt should lose the illusion fabric though? [emoji1787] Show of hands?? [emoji39][emoji91] He. Is. Dreamy.

Twist still a work in progress for these two, but they've done nicely this season. Now, hopefully the free is more Nationals than Four Continents.

I expect that Evelyn and Trennt will learn how to do a twist over the summer, but that was good! I like this program a lot, I'm weirdly obsessed with Evelyn Walsh, here's to the start of their rise!

I really thought NBC Sports gold would be more reliable then Icenetwork but they are as bad if not worse. :disagree:

I quite liked them, they're still obviously quite fresh on the senior circuit, but I hope they continue improving

Walsh/Michaud (CAN)

Tech: Quite off on the catch on the 3Twist, very clean 3Ts (good comeback),good split position in lift with good ice coverage, clean throw 3Lo, nice death spiral (Level 3), out of sync on cannonball position and a bit unstable for Michaud going out of the spins, footwork a bit plain and just there for content but nice speed at least

Pres: The rock music doesn't really suit this pair, their strengths seem to be more balletic than hard-edged rock'n'roll, good speed throughout, not a lot of interesting movements in the choreography but strong elements and flow

Score: TES 32.46, PCS 27.38, Total 59.84

I do really enjoy that moment where they just hold their edges in hold. Solid for their debut here. Now they need to work on those lifts. It looked scary again.

Great skate from Evelyn and Trennt!

I haven't noticed anyone complaining about only a few inches' difference in their heights (unlike about Ashley and Tim). Maybe it's just because Canadians are nicer?
