2019 World Championships Pairs Short Program

Tech: Only a sbs 2S from Guarise, solid and secure 3Twist, very strong throw 3Lo with clean landing (surprised it's not +3), fast rotational lift with great positions, good rotation on death spiral, a little slow and could match a bit better in the steps but fairly good edges, nice flying spins (a bit apart but good sync)

Pres: Not sure if they matched the music's tone but their timing and speed is quite strong, shame on the popped jump since that made their energy a little timid.

Score: TES 34.40, 32.89, 67.29 (currently 5th)

Unpopular opinion, but Rach 2 doesn't work for me as a short. The cuts are inevitably too abrupt.

And for sakes, Vlad, try to emote. Do some justice to this music.

I understand when people say they have solid pair elements and SS, but they leave me completely cold on the performance side of things. That's gonna go above S/H and I just.....yeah

Well thank goodness they ditched the soul program, having absolutely no feeling for it whatsoever. First rate elements again and again, I feel completely emotionally untouched. Which is a pity because the elements are SO good, I would like to feel something more than, Wow, what a great twist. But I don't.

They're not much in the way of performers, but their elements are fantastic, and this program doesn't ask them to do stuff that is outside their range, so it's excellent for them.
