I agree completely. They have always had amazing programs (Carol Lane does not get enough recognition for her choreography), but when they first got together, while they had a lot of promise, there were definitely some rough edges. If you look back at their catalogue of work you can see clearly how much work they have done on the refinement of their skating and speed, free legs, edges etc. They did the hard work to make themselves a world class team — and they've really had to work against the fact that they are not the body types that are currently in vogue in ice dance (tall, naturally long lines). They've had to work really hard for every bit of judge recognition they're finally getting.
