So let me get this they put 10nyear olds and mabye even younger together in training cam with the seniors and juniors like kamila, and the kids didnt really know what to do in the ice and mabye got in the way of the older skaters. And when alyona told the team that it wasnt working for her like this they ignored her? And then eteri made it out like she was beeing a diva and told them she had a list of skaters she didnt want to skate with( making it sound like she means skaters like anna or kamilia and not little kids?)

yep, now it all makes sense. once again, a teenager is the bigger person over a 40-something year old woman who twisted the story to fit her own narrative. i would be annoyed too. there is no excuse to have elite skaters on the same ice as little kids.

She was always ahead in that, it nopthing that would appear now. Of course, everyone can think different.

Eh, I've seen these but it doesn't translate to her on ice performance. IDK if it's bc her skating skills are holding her back or what.

Out of all the skaters, Kostornaia strikes me as most artistic and musical on ice. Maybe now Valieva too if she actually pays attention to the music.

Anna was amazing. Music literally vibrates through her body like she's some kind of living instrument, she doesn't "hit" musical accents, musical accents hit her. I've never seen anything like that.
There are skaters with better skating skills, but interpretation and musicality? I don't think anybody is even close.

Kamila was great as well - she actually hit musical accents perfectly today and her ss improved even more, jumps looked stable.

This is exactly what I see. A lot of comparisons between Kamila and Anna, but Anna lives with the music and it's in every movement, not just the accents but her posture changes and body movements with the phrasing, speed, and crescendos, where as Kamila hits the musical accents. That's the difference between innate musicality vs. being on the music. But, all skaters have their strengths and while I find Anna to be the greater artist today, and in any competition, Kamila would win for sure as figure skating is more a sport than an art. She has bigger jumps, better skating skills, better spins, and they are on part with transitions. Kamila even has better extensions and toe point. Anna's better in 2 PCS components which cannot make up for the technical differences.

As for Anna's programs, she's musical and expressive but I'm disappointed in the direction they took. She's very versatile, I wish they would've gone for a jazz, tango, or even something contemporary. I don't think anyone could've performed the it better, but the program is a bit generic. I hope her free is more interesting, the sky's the limit with her artistry, and they need to maximize that strength because her competitors are better than her in other areas.

Now, some general comments:

Plushenko at the boards is an unusual sight. And I just love Ilinykh, she seems very gentle and nurturing.

ha-ha yes!! He was very nervous! He was never so nervous when he skated! But his chewing gum helped him again he was addicted to it all his life!

I am curious as to why Sergei was only at the boards with Alena and not Sasha. It's not like they skated back to back, he had plenty of time to talk to Alena after her skate and then come back out for Sasha.

Just a random observation :scratch2:

That's probably something that can't be proven by the arguments the way it would persuade you, at least not by me. I think Anna pays attention to the music, is able to show emotions, can have the face expressions showing the "mood" according to the theme, her moves are synchronized and she follows the speed of the music. She skates light and despite she had to skate with the minors on one ice she kept those qualities for the upcoming season

Especially her hands. They are reflecting every music note in the most sublime, intricate way.

a few thoughts as i'm reading through this article posted earlier about Aliona's transfer https://m.sports.ru/tribuna/blogs/russiateam/2829756.html

i really see and understand now what Sasha meant by needing more individualized attention and Zhenya meant by having more freedom. no wonder Aliona and Sasha left if they are putting kids on the ice with elite skaters and would not do anything about it, and it sounds like Aliona is ready to have more of a say in her programs and training like Zhenya was.

this part is also very telling of Aliona's mature character, vs Eteri's child-like lashing out:

I called Sergei Alexandrovich (Rozanov is a coach in Plushenko's group - Sports.ru): is this a situation, is there a possibility? He: wait a couple of days, let's think, this is your decision, it is unexpected, you have been working in Eteri Georgievna's team for so many years, you have achieved results. I am actually very grateful to the previous headquarters.

it's also interesting that she actually did like her Billie Eilish program, when Plushenko said she hated it.

it sounds like things need to change at Sambo to prioritize their elite skaters, and they should be top priority. i hope Eteri at least learned from her 3 big students recent departures, as i'm 100% sure she would not want Kamila or Anna (or anyone else) to leave. Eteri needs to swallow her pride.

Who was the lady who was there for Trusova, anyway?

Are they in a position to? It reads to me that they do not have that much rink time, so everyone is on the ice at the same time. Eteri's team doesn't own the school or even the rink, the state funded schools are like public school if I understand correctly, and rink time is allotted to everyone at the school, across all disciplines. In such a case, maybe separating the elite and children would leave the children with no ice time at all? I vaguely remember Evgenia asking Putin for more funding to build a second rink for Sambo after the Olympics (correct me if I am mistaken) but so far we haven't heard anything about it.

i guess i'm not sure, but clearly what they are doing right now isn't working and TT shouldn't blame them for wanting to go elsewhere with better training conditions.

Sorry, should've been more straightforward: I'm afraid your musicality is limited.

I mean, just because someone doesn't agree that Anna is musical, doesn't mean that their musicality is limited...

I see it more like this:
Anna's skating is very light and feathery. She has soft arms and uses her face. She listens to the music, yes, but it all seems very banal. So many skaters have soft arms, listen to the music, and have those same facial expressions. She is musical, but I don't see anything special about her musicality that so many people here seem to see.

In the end, it's all a matter of opinion, and someone not sharing the same one as yours doesn't mean that they are incapable of judging properly because their "musicality is limited."
