Evgenia sp is like her tango fs. Her arms are as sharp as string cheese and she isnt able to capture the grandeur of the music during the step seq because her arms are just flailing about. Though I applaud her for trying out different genres of music and not sticking to her comfort zone.

But that’s the part that puzzles me... judging by the videos from her new rink, she skates with way more than 8 people now, and with little skaters too (since Plushenko has a lot of very young skaters).
Sasha also was seen training with 7yo Sasha Plushenko, with Sofia Titova and Zhilina sisters.

So I’m not sure if a lot has changed in this regard by now for Aliona. I think she really acted on an impulse, she was probably unhappy that they didn’t budge and listen to her, and thought that those relationship‘s are irredeemable.
I hope everything will turn out well for her nevertheless.

In Sasha’s latest interview, a few weeks ago, she was asked if she had ever tried 4 loop, and she said she had never tried because it required someone to use the harness, and there was never anyone available for her at Sambo70. That they were too busy with the children. But now that she’s with Pluschenko she’s tried it.

Kostornaya withdrew from FS she will not participate tomorrow. Her program is not ready yet. The choreographer is North-American. My bet he will be Sandhu, Plushenko's friend. We mentione his name some months ago in Trusova's case.
According to the Russian sites she is going to skate her FS tomorrow.

Anna said she’ll have a different dress for competitions. Don’t know about Kamila.

The dresses were a little too similar to me, so I'm glad to hear that 1 of them will be changing the dress before competitions. I wonder what's the story behind the dress Shcherbakova wore today then - why the a separate dress between test skates and competitions? I remember last year she wore a different SP dress as well, but I believe that dress she had used in summer shows, the 1 today appeared to be brand new (or at least I have no recollection of seeing that dress before).

Both dresses, Kamila’s and Anna’s, are training ones, not for competition. Olga now has enough time even for training dresses. :)

i guess i'm not sure, but clearly what they are doing right now isn't working and TT shouldn't blame them for wanting to go elsewhere with better training conditions.

Of course not. Skaters should always seek out what's best for them. But rink conditions vary greatly between every team and unless the team has the luxury of a private rink, I wouldn't put the blame on the coaches. Maybe this is the only option for the Sambo rink.

We even saw that while Eteri's team had access to training camp, other skaters from other teams couldn't even get on the ice later. Weren't there rumours that Alysa Liu had ice time during quarantine while many other skaters did not? And another example outside of Russia would be Kaetlyn Osmond who trained at a rink in a public mall. None of that is the coaches' fault, these conditions just have to be made to the skaters and they can decide whether it suits them or not.

Alena didn't want to skate with 10 y.os on the ice, that's a perfectly fine thing to want. But probably not realistic to separate them because they don't have enough rink time for that, and Eteri can't build another rink. I'm sure if they could get more ice time, they would as it would benefit everyone. She shouldn't change everyone else's ice time on the request of one student, but I also don't see an issue with Alena leaving, either.

I'm with those that felt that without Alina, something was missing for me in these test skates :(

My ranking for the top 3 would also be: Anna, Kamila and Sasha.
Yes, Anna and Kamila kind of played it safe with their programs but they both do this style so well that I have no objections at all, especially considering that they both look taller and more mature, so probably too risky to experiment at the moment.
Sasha, it was a very pleasant suprise to see her do this different style so well. She looks technically strong... the 2A looks like it's going to be a triple later. So far, I see the changes that came from the new coaching team and I think they work well :)

On the other hand, I was kinda disappointed by Aliona's music and choreo because I was hoping we would see something truly different like with Sasha's programs. This SP was basically a re-hash of last season's Twilight program, only that the pieces of music chosen here don't work very well together. The first part is too slow and dark. The second part is better but I really don't understand the music cuts and the heartbeat sound effects, even after reading the story explanation for the program. Tech-wise, I don't think she'll have problems with her 3A and other jumps.
So far, what we've seen from Rozanov's work is pretty much all taken from Daniil's manual... I'm really hoping the Free is better, at least a bit different.

I was also disappointed by Liza because of the hype in recent days and the talk about seeing a new Liza, Empress and all that. I didn't think the music or costume were very interesting or exciting and sad that she had jumps problems.
Sofia doesn't really stand out to me in any way, so I don't really have much to say.

Finally, I thought Evgenia seemed very nervous and maybe her head wasn't into the music because of this. I'm also not convinced by her jumps and spins. Usually her performance factor makes up for tech problems but not today. Not sure about how ready she can be for the first Cup event in about a week from now, but I suppose her experience will help her.

Anyway, very excited for the FS tomorrow and wishing all the ladies the best.

Anna and Alena's programs are almost the same as ones they had last year, in choreography, structure, layout, and the overall mood. Anna's similar to Perfume, but Perfume had better choreography and music, and Alena's similar to Twilight but she looked like she enjoyed Twilight more.

Overall, I'd say the programs at last season's test skates were better, but that's understandable given the break.

I even think Sasha's program is similar to Peer Gynt in the way she moves, but her triples are solid and I don't expect any less from Sasha. Given how she is able to do all quads except the loop, she probably sees triples as others see doubles: easy peasy.
