IMO Ksenia's 215 was 100% deserved. Maybe her amazing programs elevate her more than the programs of some other juniors, however that's just how it goes. She got good and fitting choreo, then good for her. If anyone was overscored on the JGP, it was some of the Eteri students. I actually think Ksenia should've been closer to Kamila in Chelyabinsk, and should've gone to JWC. Though Maya did well, so that was that. I don't see how she has been politically favored at all, maybe with getting the second JGP spot after her visa issue but when Kanysheva and Tarusina both realized that they weren't going to be able to participate and pulled out of the last two events, Frolova was called in at the last minute once again, and there were two more spots left so naturally it went to Daria and Ksenia. All her results were earned from brilliant skating - not politics or "favoring" by the fed like in the case of Stasya.
The one thing I will say is that Ksenia is elevated and helped a lot by her programs, and that in the second half of the season she was clearly having consistency issues particularly with the lutz. She was one of the only non-Eteri students to get one of those Channel 1 documentaries last season, and it actually showed her landing a triple axel.
Kamila's second best score this season came from "one of those JGP events" and so was the junior SB of Alysa Liu, and Haein Lee. Unless the scoring is blatantly out of line, I don't see a reason why a little copmetition means that the scores don't count. If you rescore Ksenia's skates at JGP Egna, I think her scores were fully desreved and at JGPF she was underscored IMO.
And once more, I know Gubanova has a lot of fans, but who but Ksenia? There is a lot of depth in RUssian ladies, but not as much this year as there were in previous years. I think she is fully deserving of two spots. Vasilieva and Gubanova will get their spots if Zagi withdraws or if the fed decides to give Sofia a hard time by only giving her one assignment.
