Apparently, Adelia Petrosyan didn’t make it neither in the main junior team, nor in the reserve junior team. Hence, likely, there would be no funding for her next year. :(
I hope she’ll still have chances on Junior Circuit next season!

I saw her name somewhere in the list, so she should have some funding.

Seems like Vasilieva is a pair skater now.

Popping in with a totally random question again!

Was Kamila expected to make the giant splash that she did?

I know nothing about her as a baby skater and have only seen a few videos where she was absolutely charming on ice.

I'm super curious to know whether she was predicted to be the next big thing before she hit JGP?

Is there a list anywhere?

Apparently she got novice-level funding! So that’s something!

Thanks, I found her (page 24). I think that doesn't exclude the possibility to attend JGP event (if there would be any of course), after all, only five girls are listed as "juniors (13-19)": Valieva, Usacheva, Khromykh, Samodelkina, Frolova.

As "girls (10-17)" there are listed: Akatieva, Berestovskaya, Gorbacheva, Dmitrieva, Zhilina, Petrosian (she is the only junior age eligible of them).

OK, I'll try to add that somehow on the first page :)

I think the list was submitted before she turned 13 so she wasn’t eligible for the junior team, only the “girls” or Novice team. But Daria/Maya were on the “girls” team last year and got JGPs so it shouldn’t be an issue (assuming JGP happens).

That is a probable explanation, the list is dated to 28th may (and was pprobably created some time before that date) and she had her birthday on 5th june. Though Kunitsa's move to pairs took part some time ago and he is still listed in singles :)

i'd say yes. she really started gaining attention in the 18-19 season with girl on the ball. that was the first program i saw of hers and i was like, woah. she's gonna be big next year.

now some are already crowning her the next olympic champion (sigh) but i understand the hype. she is a very special skater with virtually no weaknesses. if she stays healthy i think we will see big things from her as a senior.

Girl on the Ball became pretty popular even during Kamila's novice domestic competitions, like this one: https://youtu.be/oUQUOSd99Do

Of course the question was who will be stronger, her or Alysa Liu, I remember people were debating about it long before the 2019/20 season started.

Someone posting here yesterday had VV with two senior Grand Prix events this upcoming season so her move to pairs skating caught us by surprise. Then I read a short article they had said she had problems with her joints so maybe pairs skating will be easier on her. But isn't she too womanly and physically developed to be to be a pairs skater? I think it's fair skaters as being tiny and very thin so they can be lifted and throan with ease. It is unfortunate that ladies figure skating is losing someone like her.

Alysa is special and is off to a great start in her career. But Kamila pretty much dominated her last season and has superior skills. in reality Alysa has a much better chance to make the American Olympic team then Kamila has to make the Russian Olympic team because there's so much more talent and depth in Russia been than is an American ladies skating. Kamila first senior season will be the Olympic season. Maybe she can pull an Alina. ;)

I don't see how Alysa and Kamila could even be compared. In any aspect really, but for me the most telling are the quads. I'd argue Kamila's 4T is actually better than Trusova's and if you watch slow mo videos, she's one of the few that doesn't already complete the first rotation on the ice. Flow and speed not to mention. Alysa's jumps/quads already look scary now, so looking ahead two years...mh.

Undoubtedly Kamila works as hard as any other girl in that crazy high level camp, but she does have an innate advantage as far as her physique goes. Her legs are uncommonly long for her body size without being gangly. Her proportions in general are just very advantageous for figure skating.

I remember that guy from TSL saying "Valieva's gimmick is that she has a freakin long leg for her body size and that she can hold it up", which was one of the few times I agreed with him on sth. Her team really does exploit that quiet a lot, maybe too much.

True. Let's see if Killa Kamila can blow away the junior field again this year and become the greatest Junior of all time surpassing even Sasha.

But by the time she gets to skate in her first senior Russian Nationals Alysa will be three-time senior American national champion. It doesn't seem fair that Alysa will have skated in three senior national championships before Kamila even gets to go to one Russian national championships on the senior level.

Yep. Not only is it higher than Trusova's 4T along with having better takeoff technique and rotational position, she has much more beautiful landings as well when she succeeds with it. It's very difficult to argue otherwise as far as I'm concerned.

This one I wish wasn't milked so blatantly by Daniil because she could do so much more.
