Her new or old skates have nothing to do with the choreo being boring. She has new skates.
they’re so quick to write her off lmaoo the fact she went out there and skated clean despite being out of stamina that’s just so brave of her.It makes me kind of mad because there‘s fanart of costumes out there that looks 100% better than what she‘s got now.
You don‘t because she‘s struggling to skate clean. These girls are not machines and it might surprise you but it‘s very hard to emotionally engage in a program when you‘re not comfortable with the choreography and not trained enough to get through the jumps easily. The way she skated last season was an exception, not the norm and sorry but it IS nonsensical to expect the same level of “magic“ after that off-season. It will come. Give her time.
Agree with you about the costumes but like I said, most dresses for most girls this season are rather bad, programs relatively uninspired. Who really stands out? And not to mention that Aliona‘s FS was choreographed via skype and her and Shae have never worked together before. There‘s like tons of factors that need to be taken into consideration that it just seems needlessly petty to make passive aggressive comments and call Aliona things like a “muffin on skates“.
There‘s legitimate criticism to be made about the program - it‘s just not there yet. Fair enough, I‘m not saying she should get 76 PCS. But there‘s a way to word things and it‘s also obvious when criticism isn‘t made for the sake of it but to push a certain agenda. That was why my original comment was that harsh.
"A lot of people here" is not the best sample, trust me. People were hating on her FS last year too even though I liked it, and her SP was the same as two seasons ago (which was marvellous despite the bad music cut). I'm not even sure why bad dresses is a major criticism, are you looking for a fashion show?Everyone knows about her season and the struggles.
It's not about putting in transitions everywhere, it is about the whole picture. Last season she had programs, choreography and costumes that suited her well.
This new season the choreography is generic, not highlighting any of her strengths, the dresses are horrible and make her look like a muffin on skates and I don't see any of the artistic "Aliona magic". And so do a lot of people here.
i'm happy her team hasn't been sharing any 3A videos, it is only added expectations and pressure on top of all this other stuff she's had to work through. she doesn't need it and it would only deter from training. just another thing to worry about. We do not forget Aliona receives so much hate, attacks from Eteri fans everywhere..on IG, on forums. Can you imagine how much pressure was on her? Can you imagine if you would be such situation? Plus this was her first competition from January. I hope she and the coaches are going to handle this situation and she is going to understand this is not the end of her career. Plus she doesn't have to hurry at all.
Exactly. Those are the moments I wish she didn‘t change coaches because it‘s just so tiresome to have to defend her again and again against people who don‘t even care about the skaters but only see them as tools in their “coaching fanwars“. Imagine what these girls have to go through if they fear for their scores and career because of the media slandering against them. It‘s just insane.they’re so quick to write her off lmaoo the fact she went out there and skated clean despite being out of stamina that’s just so brave of her.

What was that last award for?I guess Sasha was the only athlete who won two Golds at this competition.
Usually the coach of the gold medal winner gets a medal, too. But Plush didn‘t show up so they just gave it to Sasha. What was that last award for?

Huh? I thought the fifth stage was on December 5-8? Would be really weird otherwise...Does Rostelecom clash with the 5th stage of the russian cup?
As far as I could see the 5th stage is sceduled 20th-24th and rostelecom 20th-23rd. This does not seem right since skaters like Tuktamysheva and Kostornaia is expected to skate both right?
Am I missing something here or is the exeptinally bad planning?
I understand her struggles but despite landing all of her jumps, her skating just feels... messy. Visible issues on all of her spins and steps, so much two foot skating. It just felt like a jump drill. No interpretation or performance quality at all.No connection to the music or choreo. The music just made me want to go rewatch Zhenya’s 2016 program. Aliona is just too good of a skater to have me feeling this “meh” about her this season. I hope she just needs more time. I really hope she’s not rushing into things or overworking herself because that will not turn out well in the end. I was going to post the standings myself but you beat me to it!So I said I was going to do some math as to who is in for Nationals or not depending on what happens at the last event.
If everyone who has only skated one event (or the 12 best in the standings at least) we get the following results:
Valieva
Kostornaia
Tuktamysheva
Tsibinova
Guliakova
Tarakanova
Sultanmagomeva
Kostina
Sidrova
Andeeva
Sarnovskaya
Zabora
I dont know if all these skaters will show up but we will see.
I am going to assume that Medvedeva and Sinitsyna gets a bye to nationas just to be safe. I find this rather likely since the comp really wouldnt be the same without them.
Valieva, Kostornaia and Tuktamysheva should be in nationals unless they completely bomb and drop to 10th or 11th place.
Tsibinova, Guliakova and Tarakanova have verry similair scores in their first competition and Tarakanova would really need to beat at least one of them if she wants a spot at nationals preferably both... Tsibinova and Guliakova can safely afford to drop as far as 7th witout any issues. Sultanmagomeva would be in if she goes in 7th and possibly also 8th depending on what else happens and what the scores are.
The rest have basically no chance unless they have the skate of their life and scores in the 185-190 region and battle with Guliakova, Tsibinova and Tarakanova for places 4-6th. This I find verry unlikely.
On a slightly sad note it looks like Konstantinova is out. Her 9th today really hurt her chances. and she will probably end up 17th or 18th in the standings where I expect 16 to qualify.
My predictions for who makes it to natinals is:
Group1: Trusova, Sherbakova, Valieva, Kostornaia, Usasheva, Tuktamysheva
Group2: Medvedeva, Sinitsyna, Kromykh, Frolova, Samodurova, Nugomanova
Group3: Tsibinova, Gulyakova, Talalykina, Sultanmagomeva, Shulskaya, Tarakanova/Molchanova
1st reserve: Tarakanova/Molchanova
2nd reserve: Konstantinova
Well they didnt post any 3a because obviously she doesn't have it (yet)
Agree that her dresses are horrible. They look like a buyanova reject. this are the little thing just don't happen with eteri.
However, the most important thing was a clean skate. Rember its her first outing with new programs, after a nasty public divorce mids of puberty including body changes, covid preperation and so on..
Guys giver her some slack, please
Rostelecom Cup GP is on Nov 18-22As far as I could see the 5th stage is sceduled 20th-24th and rostelecom 20th-23rd.
