if I get what you're talking about, the best solution would be to have acess to more rinks to distribute the load and reduce contacts, but there are 2 major problems:
1- the rink is only a part of those big academies, and they have a lot of "secondary" training places in their facilities
2- the staff would probably remain in contact with all the skaters so forming a bridge and limiting the effectiveness of the skate's' separation (breaking their own bubble)
You make pertinent points about the situation. But it's absolutely sickening at the Russian Federation with the best group of ladies skaters in the world seniors and juniors and the best group of pair skaters in the world seniors and juniors screw this whole situation up by being too arrogant or stupid or whatever it was. How come the American figure skating Federation does not have the same problem or the Japanese figure skating Federation or the Korean figure skating Federation? I mean we're like 14 months away from the next Winter Olympics and many of the Russian ladies and Russian pairs teams are not well because of Covid and because of being lackadaisical from the Federation.

If they announce in the next couple weeks there will not be a Europeans in January they should move Russian Nationals back a few weeks maybe a month or spread it out over a two or three-week. Why do ladies for one week prayers for one week dance for one week men's for one week and that way you minimize how many people are there at one time in the facility or the locker room. They might have to do that in other domestic and international events on all levels. If they don't lots of events will be canceled.

Is it true that aliona has covid? :( and to think I was just thinking yesterday how the skaters at PA have escaped covid-19 for the most part other than Veronika.

yes. i wonder if Sasha has it too.
Every picture posted of her at Rostelcom she looked unwell. Sasha seems to be the most reckless of all-lots of pics of her with young fans, none of them wearing a mask. Not to mention at the banquet. Almost everything posted on Instagram has made me cringe.

So, Aliona‘s out, too and Eteri‘s preparing her skaters remotely because of a “cold“. Alright then.

If this wasn‘t all so sad, it would be hilarious trying to imagine RusFed sitting at their desks, frantically googling “how to tell my athletes got Covid19 without actually admitting they have Covid19“. Shouting at each other: “XY‘s ill - quick, do we say pneumonia or heavy cold?“ - “No, no, not pneumonia, we used that one two days ago already. I think we haven‘t used “cold“ in a while, let‘s take that one.“

No, seriously. Covid deniers are everywhere, this has nothing to do with the country. It‘s just that, in this case, RusFed has behaved extraordinarily recklessly, so it‘s obviously noted. And again, I‘m not advocating to shut ourselves inside forever. I‘m not advocating for them to cancel the competitions, on the contrary, as this virus will not be leaving any time soon, it‘s probably important to learn how to live despite it. But there‘s a way to do that without acting like it doesn‘t exist. Masks. Social distancing. Common sense. That‘s really all it needs. Not to get rid of it, that‘s not going to happen. But to curb the curve and avoid what‘s currently happening with the Russian athletes.

Really, there‘s a lot to be said about overflowing hospitals and overworked nurses and doctors, to make it plain obvious that this is not just a “common flu“. But for the sake of this thread, I‘ll reduce it to the Russian ladies.

Last year‘s National team:
Aliona
Anna
Sasha
Evgenia
Alina
Liza
Kseniia

So far, three are confirmed to have (had) covid (Liza, Aliona, Evgenia). Anna had “pneumonia“. Kseniia‘s out with an unspecified illness/injury. Out of the competing skaters, only Sasha‘s left. And she, too, was at the Rostelecom Cup that seems to have been a superspreader event. If you do something similar in the other disciplines, the result will look even worse.

So, who‘s left for Nationals? Who could, at this point, make up a European team (if we don‘t consider the high likelihood that Euros are going to end up canceled)? Anna, if she restores everything in the about three weeks remaining. Kamila, Daria and Maiia are too young. So, the only thing RusFed‘s (and the own skaters‘) carelessness led to, was a very successful exhibition of “How to wipe out the most talented National team figure skating has seen in ages“. And I‘m supposed to sit here and watch my favorite skaters not only have their career but their health, too, endangered? Because of lacking safety measures that would have been very simple to implement? And then be all like: You know what, they know what they‘re doing.

No. No, they don’t . And the number of athletes dropping every day is proof enough of that.

I guess all I can do, however, is to cross my fingers for all skaters to fully recover and the healthy ones to remain so.

I do wish health to everyone in this difficult time. I hope everyone and their families stay safe.

In my opinion Tutberidze team are responsible of this Covid outbreak in Rostelecom cup. They did not tell the truth about Scherbakova diagnose..
Otherwise Morris, Alina, Kamila, Dudakov and Daniil couldnt also participate. And now we see result of this lie....
Ummmmm I think this is blaming for the sake of blaming. You're pointing fingers at the wrong entity. The real entity to blame is RusFed for improperly organizing the events. You really can't say that Team Tutberidze is the root of the cause especially since basically every team has had a case.
Just like with other "colds" in other teams I have my suspicions for Anna's and Eteri's illnesses, but regardless of that they are not to blame.

at this point i hope they postpone nats. it would be incredibly senseless and unfair to hold it when so many of their skaters have been sick and not able to train or compete.
The Russian sports ministry has taken notice of the issue as well. Hopefully they have some common sense and will instruct RusFed to do better and to figure out a safe and fair solution to the Nats issue.

i just saw that post as well and wondered if it was recent. how would he randomly come up with a story about her being sick and coaching virtually? strange.
it IS recent - Eteri thanks him for his "concern" and tells him that they do not have any symptoms of any cold/illness and are working at the rink

as for "how would he randomly come up with a story" - he's known to have a severe chronic case of verbal diarrhea for a long time.

Layshev is a weird weird man...
so he’s at it yet again

Remember how he lied that Alina couldn’t attend Sambo event, because she was busy filming (although Alina doesn’t film on that day of the week), and she called him out saying no one invited her? Lol, same thing.
