I feel so conflicted about this. On the one hand I would really like Liza to get another go at a World Championship after what happened in 2019. As much as I love her and wish for her to make the Olympics next year, realistically I don't think she stands a chance, so she should have at least another Worlds at the dusk of her career.
On the other hand, Aliona was robbed of her Worlds medal in 2020 by the pandemic. It is not a given that she makes the team next year, so she should really have this opportunity to compete at what could be the only World Championship of her career.
Sometimes figure skating is such a cruel sport (especially if you are a Russian lady).
I can’t help but think Liza‘s technical progress unfortunately happened in the incorrect Olympic cycle. That she needed her current content (1*3A in SP and 2 in FS) heading to 2018 Olympics. With that she would’ve likely been on the podium, and would’ve made history for Russia.
Right now only skaters like Aliona can compete with others with 3*3A, because likely Kamila will add 3A in the free, and have total of 2*3A and 2*4T, Anna will possibly go for 3 quads, Sasha for 3A in SP and 4-5 quads in the free.
In this olympic cycle having 3*3A can only help if you have very good jump, Spin, stsq GOE and amazing SS like Aliona. In the Olympic year, having 3*3A just won’t be enough for Liza to make it into top3. It was will be enough for Aliona, when she’s flawless, but I don’t think it’s enough for Liza to make it...

She needs to skate with a quad, and she needs to do it soon.

I don't know what's the big deal with Dasha skating last. 😅
She's clearly able to deliver hehe :D

Sasha is in a bit of an advantage performance-wise I think. In the sense that it would be kinda less obvious that Dasha is better in portraying it. :)

The Quartet at training today, listening to the boss...

So sad that Darya with her current content going clean would have been Olympic Champion in 2014, and today most likely she'll not even get a spot to go.
In 2014 people would have dropped their jaws at her spins and flexibility like they did at Lipnitskaya, today it's just taken for granted and so many have it.
They would have praised her as a phenomenon as such a mature and developed performer for her age, now that's expected from a 14 or 15yo.

I was contemplating the day before yesterday that Eteri should work with Kamila to stabilize her 3A and the next day she showed arguably the best ever triksel in ladies figure skating. Wow. So far, it looks like the next OGM will go to either Anna or Kamila. The biggest drama will be who is the third team member. She will likely get the bronze. Sorry, Rika.

While I am a Daria fan, I am not sure she is better at portraying this particular music. The slower sections suit her, but other sections suit Sasha more... Honestly, I would be very happy to never see either program again or ever have another R&J program in figure skating. Please be more creative choreographers.

I love Sasha skating her footwork to dance of the knights, I'd give the other pieces to Daria. And yes to more creativity, for the love of all that is good.

Kamila is going for 3A, 4T2T and 4T in the free. Anna seems to have 4Lz, 4F3T and 4F planned. Sasha has 4Lz3T, 4Lz and 4T planned. None of them had a clean run-through, but that doesn't mean anything for the actual competition.

I don't think just having a 3A will be enough next year. Same goes for Aliona. They'll need a quad to push Sasha off the team unless she gets injured.
Maybe. I would definitely try to get quads if I were them. But if Sasha doesn't have a 3A next year, the Russian judges have shown they aren't going to break 80 in the short for her. And with Kamila they've shown they're very happy to dump an extra 10 points on a short with a triple axel, skating skills, and someone they like. In the long, being inconsistent and out of favor could still put her behind a skater being helped with GoE and PCS.

Where are the surprises Daniil promised us? Is the surprise just that we still hate him?

That's not a surprise ;)

Kamila's 3A, I guess. There wasn't a surprise in the short, so hopefully there'll be something here.

Anna going back to her test skates music, maybe? She said she liked that music better.

I guess it's Kamila's 3A in the free plus there was talk about Maia adding another quad but I am not sure whether that happened as no one mentioned how her training went
