I'm joking dudeI'm more of a Bayesian than a frequentist
Harvard is cool, but can't take a joke eh?I agree it's not enough of a prior. But, you cannot fault people for observing partial data and coming to that kind of conclusion.

Harvard is cool, but can't take a joke eh?Anyway, it's nice to use statistics in sports! We're probably complete nerds with no sense of humor.

You are the one who doesn't understand statistics. Have you ever heard of a concept called "correlation"?Of course this is directly connected to statistics! If you are unable to see the connection then you clearly don’t understand what statistics is. My argument is a frequentist-inference based one: given how many jumps they completed successfully out of the jumps they attempted in practice (i.e., their success rates), what kind of forecasts can be made? What is the probability that they land those jumps? What is their expected number of landed jumps? Probability and expectation are fundamental concepts in statistics.
By the way, I got my statistical training at Harvard. Where did you get yours?
So can I take this to mean that there indeed is no correlation between the two? I'm not talking about formulas here at all, but the real world.Quick, Shayuki, what is the mathematical formula for correlation?
Indeed, glad we agree.Hey IcyMathSome people are her to share their opinions. Some are interested in other people's opinion. Some people are just here to argue, always be right, and call everyone else mean and stupid. If you're going to invest your time in presenting long, rational, well-thought out perspectives, you'll make yourself crazy getting into it with members who do not want their minds changed.
all 3 of them are capable of such scores, but they'll have to be perfect.OK, so now the question is whether Liza T. can get a 138 or higher to get bronze. (Just being approximate.) I don't think Karen Chen can get a 143 or Yelim Kim can get a 144 or Kaori can get a 147, can they?
Posting here because it does kind of fit here, and the competition thread is moving a mile a minute.
Thanks so much, it worked <3Try these:
