To me this was Anna's best SP of the season and maybe ever?
She was absolutely on point, the spins were up to her usual level again, jumps looked like she had no doubt at all and you can really see that she has something inside to give, like she really connects with the music and performance from within, not just repeating the coreo.
Anna abolitionists will keep complaining about her scores but whatever, you keep pushing girl.

It was her best SP performance this season, I find the music a little too one-note though, I preferred Perfume that had a little more drama and variations to it and i felt it was a better vehicle to highlight her expressiveness and ability to accentuate on the beat.

Yes, as much as I love Anna, I think both her programs are underwhelming this year. I hope she changes them both next season.

I really like Anna's FS music, IMO it was a good decision to make the change from the original music. The current end with Beethoven's Five Secrets adds perfect gradation and the impression is very optimistic thanks to it. At least in the way how she skated at RusNats. I only wish her to skate it with a similar perfection again.

Fair enough, I prefer this SP over perfume only since last season I still perceived her as a bit too juniorish to carry that piece to its potential, while she really ravels in this year's piece to me.

Regarding the FS I agree with the poster above, I love her music this year. I think serious/mellow classical, building slowly up to a dramatic more energetic finish is what suits her. And I feel like she has the maturity and expression to really perform that now.

I pray they won't give her some "alternative and fun" upbeat experiment for the Olympics, to me that would anhiliate what she can have going for her above Valieva if it came down to it. It's curious, if they both stay healthy and end up going, this truly looks like Alina/Evgenia ready to repeat itself all over again in quiet similar conditions, just overall upgraded tech.

Only that A/E was a closer call I think.

I actually think her best performance of the SP was at nationals, if you don't count the spin she messed up. The -3Lo had even more distance and flow there, and overall she was even more emotive. I think the highly competitive environment brings out Anna's best, and she was more relaxed here (which is better for a lot of skaters) but I prefer when she has the most attack.

Which programs will be kept? Or have enough potential to keep?

- Valieva FS confirmed and new SP most likely.
- Evgenia definitely keeping both programs.
- Alina was given new programs for this season wasn't she? She might keep them or they could be given to someone else.
- Anna I think they'll change both, but if they kept a program it would be the SP as it gets very high PCS.
- Aliona had that Lovely FS which is an exhibition now, but we know there was a SP she didn't like. They could give that to her.
- Daria no clue.
- Maiia no clue.

Akatieva, Petrosyan will keep some of their programs I think. So Daniel can work on the seniors. But which ones would they keep? And actually who choreographs for juniors now?

Her 4T is so good now. We'll see but I think that stat is changing real fast. I would go as far as saying she doesn't even need the 4S to win.

Her 4T is good, the issue is that its worth 9.5 points which is between 1.5-2 points less than a solo lutz or flip, and Shcherbakova if she lands her quads (which she has a really good success rate at) usually gets decent GOE based on her international scoring, so just because Valieva's 4T is good it doesn't mean she makes up the deficit of the BV of her quads vs. Shcherbakova's. And Shcherbakova has cleared 81 points in 2 international competitions for the SP, both had mistakes, so should Shcherbakova maintain this scoring she's not likely in some big deficit against Valieva who has a triple axel going into the FS where she needs to hit all the quads she can do to overcome the SP deficit (she still won all the FS's last year even when she had errors on the quads). The world record for SP right now is 85.45 (scored last year at the GPF by Kostornaia), Shcherbakova with a double axel and an edge call on her flip scored less than 4.5 points from that score.

Kinda agree, they've chosen 'safe' route for her this year. At least her Ex is pretty outstanding - she is quite different in it.

I guess they will both keep at least their FS, those programs can shine at JGP/JWC.

That's funny, I would have assumed Adeliya would keep the SP, because it's so energetic and just so distinctive. One rarely hears music like that in ladies figure skating, but it still fits just right somehow. (It's also some top-notch musicianship, imo.)

One thing is for sure, Sofia Samodelkina needs new music, because if I am not mistaken she has had the same LP for three seasons now.

Flip is a good place to "regulate". So difficult to see property, and the ! or e used here and there...
Lutz is usually much more visible.

Alina scored 82 before so we know it's possible. But Valieva doesn't just have 2 4Ts, she has 2 3As too. With the 4S she wouldn't even need to up the 2T to 3T. It's 5 ultra elements.

And Valieva scored 254 domestically with 2 quads and a 3A< fall in the SP. Without it she would be at 262. I think Anna's quad gets around +3 internationally, but I think Kamila could be getting +4/+5.
