Really?

Is about 45 minutes between the warm-up and the skate enough time to lose a jump? In that case for instance Bradie lost her 3Lz, becuse the attempt during her free skate was UR.

That 4F3T I really like! The jump looks very far (longer in length), giving her more time to rotate it. Very clever!

I actually said to myself yesterday: Anna did so well at WTT, wonder if anyone will say she's lost jumps. Nah, that's ridiculous. Even more ridiculous than the normal ridiculous. Won't happen.

Apparently I have too much faith in people being sensible🤣

Channel 1 has really saved us this season! No other country in the world is doing this.
Apart from Channel 1 I would like to express my "local" thanks to our Czech TV. On one hand I don't like much of their comments, their bias etc., but on the other hand I have to appreciate that they broadcasted what was possible this season. All four GP events even in their limited form, worlds and WTT (and everything is available in their videoarchive). I hope they will continue in it, during the previous years they usually broadcasted only Europeans and Worlds.

The highlights of the season? This can be a long story. Just a couple of remarks then. No matter how many times some posters here tell the whole world that Men and not Ladies is the discipline they follow and/or "put a name of a top Russian skater" skating does nothing for them the reality is clear. Ladies is THE DISCIPLINE and Russian ladies is the focus of this discipline. Just look at the number of posts and views in RLT vs. the rest. Next year main drama in the worlds' ladies' figure skating is not about OGM winner. The main drama is who is going to make Russian Olympic Team even though there won't be Russian Olympic Team - something like Olympic athletes from Russia, version #2.

Anna and Kamila look all set. But puberty and stuff. Eteri knows how to make wonders even with adverse situations if we are talking Olympics (Zhenya before Korea). Let's just hope that both of them will be doing fine. Today realistically no one can challenge their team spots. But we know that the ice is slippery. Even if they are set who is the third skater? That is the question.

Russian Nationals coming December may become the most dramatic and the most high level competition that ladies' figure skating has ever seen. The city is St. Petersburg. I am coming. This one just cannot be missed.

Take a look at the content of some of Russia's top skaters:

Trusova: Multiple quads. (3-5 in an FS) Usually lands at least 2-3 of them. (Has done all quads except 4A in practice) Potential 3A.
Shcherbakova: 4Lz, 4F. 1-2 quads in an FS. Almost always perfectly clean.
Kostornaia: 3A? - Hopefully. Maybe quad? - Good, skating skills and high PCS from international judges.
Usacheva: Consistent. Is working on 3A/quad.
Khromykh: 4S, 4T
Valieva: Multiple quads, 3A in SP and FS
Tuktamysheva: 3A in SP. 2 3A's in FS. Potential 4T in FS. (Has landed in practice)

This is insane.
It's also pretty crazy to look at that groups collective achievements. Arguably more impressive really.

Trusova: World's bronze medalist, Euro's bronze medalist, GPF bronze medalist, two-time Junior World's champion, JGPF champion and silver medalist, Russian Nationals senior silver and two-time bronze medalist (silver while still internationally a junior), and two time Russian Nationals junior champion. (She holds the world record for the free skate. First lady to land the 4Lz, 4F, and 4T, first to land two, three, and four quads in the same program, first to land a quad in combination, first to land two and three different types of quads, first to land three different triple jumping combinations, and first to land a backloaded quad+triple combination. Historical junior short, free, and total record holder.)

Shcherbakova: reigning World's champion, Euro's silver medalist, GPF silver medalist, Junior World's silver medalist, EYOF champion, three-time and reigning Russian Nationals senior champion (once while still internationally a junior) , and Russian Nationals junior bronze medalist. (She's the second highest ranked lady in the world and the highest ranked Russian lady. First senior lady to land a 4Lz, first lady to land two 4Lzs in the same program and first to land a 4Lz+triple combination.)

Kostornaia: reigning Euro's champion, reigning GPF champion, Junior World's silver medalist, JGPF champion and silver medalist, Russian Nationals senior silver and two-time bronze medalist (both bronzes earned while still internationally a junior), and two-time Russian Nationals junior silver medalist. (She holds the world record of the total and short program and the junior world record for the short program.)

Valieva: reigning Junior World's champion, reigning JGPF champion, Russian Nationals senior silver medalist (while still internationally a junior), and Russian Nationals junior champion. (She holds the junior world record for the total and free skate.)

Usacheva: Junior World's silver medalist, JGPF bronze medalist, Russian Nationals senior fourth place (while still internationally a junior), and Russian Nationals junior silver medalist.

Khromykh: Junior World's fourth place, Russian Nationals senior fifth place (while still internationally a junior), and Russian Nationals junior fifth place.

Tuktamysheva: World's champion and silver medalist, Euro's champion and bronze medalist, GPF champion and bronze medalist, Junior World's silver medalist, JPGF silver medalist, Youth Olympic champion, Russian Nationals senior champion, two-time silver medalist, and two-time bronze medalist (silver and and both bronzes earned while still internationally a junior), and Russian Nationals junior champion and silver medalist. (First lady to lady four triple jumps in a short and first to land the maximum 12 triple jumps in one competition.)

Like that's crazy. There are others too. They are leaving at least 4 of these ladies OFF the Olympic team.

I mean Kseniia has a competition very soon so I'm crossing my finger she'll do absolutely amazing there and put herself bam straight in the GP conversation. If Zhenya doesn't decide to return (I'm about 50/50 on whether or not she'll return), then I'd assume Maiia would definitely get two spots, and then Kseniia 2, Liza N 1 and Anna Frolova 1 would be my pick, but considering Sofia S has the world standing, I think she'd probably get one spot. But if Zhenya does return, that's a swift goodbye to Anna Frolova or Liza N's GP chances, which is super depressing because both deserve it, but then again, if Zhenya is in shape, she certainly deserves it too. GP assignments will already be such a heartbreaker! And it's only GP assignments!

EDIT: I checked and Kseniia is not on the list of entries for the SPB competition anymore. Now I'm very concerned about her GP chances.
I think IF Evgenia doesn't return it goes Maiia two spots, and then Liza N gets two (NOT Kseniia). They'll go by RusNats and she was 6th there. She was also alternate for World's and WTT. I think Liza N makes reserve for the National team.I think Sofia S might get one spot but I actually think they go with Kseniia T rather than Kseniia S.

I'm afraid I have to agree with you. It looks grim for Sinitsyna.

I think an important strategy for her would be to go to an early Challenger (and perform well of course). That way she will be high on the SB list and would enter the replacement list for GPs (in case of any other Russian girl gets injured).

Yeah, that's what I think she has to do. And she has to keep going to Challengers and senior B's and the Russian Cup stages and doing well. Then then she has a chance at the host spot.

The issue isn't her technical content, it's that she has yet to land it. It's being consistent. And with limited spots...

For Maiia I would add that apart from Sasha and Anna she is only the third lady who landed two different quads in one program (as for the other two of course). Similarly Kamila is only the second lady (after Alysa Liu and with Rika as the third), who landed clean 3A and a quad in one program.
