That's the point. Liza is the only lady in a hundred years of figure skating with that kind of resume.

Well, idk, I never thought Liza's score was the problem. It was fair, yesterday, too.

But yeah, she really ruins it for herself by continuing to do that +2A sequence. It drives me mad.

Liza's score was fine. I would say the issue was with the overscoring of other skaters. However, Liza will make nationals. And, she is taking it in stride. I imagine that is a benefit to being 23 and not 14/16 when you feel your life is over after a bad skate.

Congratulations to Anna on her win, though and Daria and Liza on their medals.

You know despite the mistakes, I am pretty impressed with Liza's efforts this season. She really looks faster across the ice than she has in the past, and her programs aren't as empty.

IMHO, the most utterly enjoyable of all the Russian ladies. That closing pose alone is everything. Congratulations on your medal, Liza!

no clean skating runs in the free program top contenders, but still the proper ranking order.

Tuktamysheva has a program cut out for her, slow music, slow careful skating, but appeared to be over concentrated or lacking in endurance to me.

While Usachyova and Shcherbakova went full out in their full and high speed programs and quickly recovered after their mistakes.

Even their recomposure after leaving the ice was remarkable.

Well done girls, earned your ranking points and now can relax a little for the Cup Finals/Nationals. And try to get that triksel to silence that one critic.

At the 5th stage there will be a clash of 3As - Liza vs. Aliona. I'm curious about that. Of course if Aliona is in her previous form she should win.

Scoring Liza fairly (and not underscoring her for example, like they could have) and when people complain, just tell them to have a look at Liza's protocol and score. "I dunno what you're talking about, look, her score is fair!" Sure it is. Because it never was about her score in the first place...

But anyway... there was really no chance for victory for her with that kind of performance. She'll try next time. I still like her SP. The FS... not so much.

You can see that the competition is very tense even at this stage, most of the mistakes of the final group came from nerves.

Indeed, I would say it has been a trick used in the ladies' event at each stage of the Russian Cup.

The SP is much better. I would just say that the FS is less empty than her previous free skates and she looks a bit faster. So, I appreciate those improvements.
