Yes, it's a weird sport. Sorry for going offtopic, but your question was interesting and the kabbadi example was the only one that came to my mind.

After he is finished with his career (and hopefully grabbed some more medals) Samarin should become a fashion designer and create his own signature clothes line. Obviously there would be many potential customers among the Russian figure skaters. And in the after competition interviews they could go like "Today I am wearing Samarin", just like the Hollywood stars at the Oscars.
