What have the Canadian men's singles done to piss off the Olympics gods so much??? Maybe win too many world championships, be the first to land the triple lutz, triple axel, quad toe, quad toe combo, two quads SP in competition :)

I don't know :) but you'd think all these firsts would have given them good karma....

I had a walk... then a hot bath with grapefruit, lavender sea salts, then a shower, then moisturizing.... and still devastated.... I don't think Canada has a back up plan... for the team event, Roman should do it all... and they are probably hoping Keegan will get there in time in a week for singles... but you know... fly someone.. anyone. just have a boy skate at the olympics !!! I would even not mind if they sent Nam as he's never been to the games... I am sure Keegan would want another guy to go if he cannot make it... I know plenty of people who had to wait 2-3 weeks before testing negative to fly back to Canada after holidays abroad... so I am worried.

Here are some quotes from Keegan by Dan Barnes, an Olympics sports writer for Postmedia.

the COC says they do have hope... I personally think he definitely won't make the team event... and chances he makes it to the singles are very slim.. but that's just my feeling.
Hope he will make it to the Games after all. 😔 Keegan has worked his entire career to become a national champion and of course, make it to the Games to skate in both the individual and the team event.

i feel drained already and the games haven't started yet... cheering for our skaters will require lots of dark chocolate ;) i am just very sad for Keegan. He deserved his moment. I wish they had postponed those games when omicron started its crazy "i am going to get you all" thing

I'm so gutted for Keegan. I seem to remember he really wanted to take part in the team competition in 2018 and he kept bugging Patrick to let him do one of the events! Fingers crossed he at least tests negative in time for the singles competition.

Keegan is always one to watch for me. I have never been emotionally attached to his skating like I am for Patrick or Shoma or Joseph... BUT i have a different kind of attachment : excitement and fun and cheerful state of mind when i watch him... the energy, the spins, the speeds, the happy feelings... for me Keegan = JOY. This is why i am so sad because he does represent something that we don't see so much in figure skating right now where the focus is so technical or "deep". It's nice to have someone who brings a smile to our face, yet is a very exciting and competent skaters in all areas of the sport. I hope he can flush out that virus in time to make it to the games.
