They flew to Vancouver from Toronto yesterday, then flew from Vancouver to Tokyo then China yesterday. Only Team event members. They are not splitting the team events up.
Sorry but I am not convinced for various reasons.

The photo clearly shows James and Radford as well as Moore-Towers Marinaro... so how can you say Only team event members and they are not splitting the team events up ? That is a big contradiction.

Until I hear the words from Skate Canada that Keegan is not participating in the team event, then only, I will buy this hypothesis. And by buying it, I mean, accept it is accurate, because it would be the most ridiculous thing for him not to skate at least the SP when he placed 6th at worlds last year and has been the most consistent skater (aside Piper and Paul) on the team this season.... If Canada wants a tiny chance to compete with Japan, they need strong SPs from everyone.

Just 19 minutes ago, the CBC Sports YouTube channel has uploaded the exact same fluff piece of Roman that I already shared 11 days ago, and I was wondering if it's geoblocked outside Canada.

You could also say "Only skaters who train in Toronto (GTA). They are not splitting the Toronto skaters up."
@Ziotic reminded me in another thread that J/R train in Montreal, not Toronto, plus they represented Quebec at Nationals.

The main point @NanaPat and myself were making is that this photo doesn't confirm or not that Keegan is not skating the team event as @xox is implying. It just shows"some" team members flying in to Beijing. We can easily assume that the other two ice dance teams qualified for the games are not participating in the team event. That, I am willing to accept Anyways, we will find out sooner than later, right?? :)

Capital Indoor Stadium is the Olympics figure skating venue, so I assume this means the skaters have arrived safely in Beijing (and hopefully they all tested negative for COVID).

I have seen @Ziotic post saying that apparently Keegan has decided not to take part in the team event. I wonder if there is a source for this or if it is just a rumour. If that's true, it still doesn't mean that Canada is not splitting the team event... James and Radford and MTM were on that flight. It just means that Team Canada cannot split it any further.
I am very sad about this : I feel that Keegan's and every Canadian skater as a matter of fact, best chance to win an Olympic medal was the team event, even if they most likely will not. Perhaps Keegan's motivations are of a different order : skate well and clean at the Olympics and he feels that doing the team event would mean too much fatigue? I have no clue. I will let the ones who seem to know better to enlighten us on this ... anyways... let's see if those are rumours or not... and they better not come from you know who LOL;)

I would also like to know if he is going to be in the Team Event or not. I also read that he wasn´t on the plane with the rest of team. I hope as you say it´s because he would take a different route..

Well, team event or not, there is no doubt that Keegan would take a different route.. He lives in Alaska to start with... This situation vaguely reminds me of Chiddy's disappearance from the world, in the fall, after he left Zoueva.... So many thought it was the end.... but he resurfaced and to the joy of his fans, became an Olympic champion :)

Just a note : do not expect athletes to be very active on social media : the Canadian Olympic Committee has warned them about cybersecurity while in China. Apparently, they were given disposable phones and were told to keep their own devices at home.

It was simply a rumour at this point. I have no concrete backup, but we will find out soon one way or another.

I can only assume if he does compete the team it would be the SP.

The Men Team SP is on Feb 4, Men Team FS Feb 6, Men SP Feb 8, Men FS Feb 10---all with practice sessions between the events. That might be tough for 22 yo Sadovsky, but 30-yo Messing may feel it's stretching him beyond his capabilities.

We have discussed the schedule of events at large. Yes, it's something that is at great disadvantage for our team : Keegan is older and Roman has had stamina issues... I still believe that doing the SP team event for Keegan would be a good preparation with enough rest in between to do the singles event... 4 days is quite good... and there is a day off between the SP and LP in singles.

I wonder how the athletes did the qualifying round in the past, with a LP just before the SP and then the LP... in a much tighter schedule... just saying...

glad to hear it's a rumour without concrete backup... :) i will remain hopeful. I mean the guy said he wants to keep skating another year so he has gone to 20 nationals and potentially finish with world team trophy :) one would think that if he fins world team trophy exciting, that he would want to take part in the Olympic team event, something he wasn't selected for last time around... anyways... we will find out very soon

This only says that he was planning on leaving January 25th. It doesn't confirm whether that actually happened.
I am just a fan of the sport... I go with what the athletes or news reveal... if other people know better, they can share their news...

I don't want to fan the flames, but if he left on the 25th, surely he'd be there already?
Edit: This doesn't mean he's not going at all though
