I swear if they bring the girls in danger because of not telling the truth or ignoring it i will scream . In lets hope for them they are telling the truth even if to false positive in one day for two persons are not tha believable in my eyes. If it were a fast speed test i would say ok , because there i got a false positive as well but my pcr was negative. But they took a pcr test right?
I can´t see anyone state that it´s PCR, but since they are required to do two PCR test before departure i´m guessing so. Also I can never imagine Kogan taking a test for precautions without symptoms if what he says is true. I would imagine it got caught because of mandatory testing. But it could also be part of the test routine in the pre olympic camp, maybe they only use rapid test?

No matter where it came from, as I understand Kogan's first response was to state he had received a "false positive" result and not that he had not received a positive result at all which just changed later on to the total denial of the news. Didn't he know his results himself until the Fed told him what they were? Didn't he know he did not get a postive result but did know it was false positive? Oh,....
Or he did not tweet that at all? Just asking cause I don't use Tweeter myself so I can't check...
he did not say that he or anyone else had received a false positive. He said that everyone on the team is tested every day, and that such tests are theoretically capable of producing false positives or false negatives.

Are they flying on a private plane? I'm guessing since Russia is pretty chilled about Covid, if it's a private plane they'll just let them fly willy nilly?

Sorry I'm not being helpful😓

Malicious rumors

This is what we're hoping for!!! This is the best we can hope for!!!!!

It doesn't matter if they fly private.

They will still need to test as they arrive at the airport and once again checking in at the village. Then everyday until the games end.

If anyone test positive in Beijing, they won't be turned away but will have to quarantine until they are able to produce 2 consecutive negative results. Only then they are released from quarantine and able to compete.

That is why it is smart to check in really early in Beijing so that just incase you test positive, you have few days to quarantine and hope to God you test negative ASAP so that you can compete in your event. I bet a lot of athletes are realizing that now.

By the way, at the time of the appearance of reports of positive tests, Gleikhengauz and Kogan were in Moscow, and not in Krasnoyarsk. Gleikhengauz planned to fly to Krasnoyarsk today, Kogan may go directly to Beijing, but this is not 100%.
I would be relieved if they turn out to still be in Moscow, but however more a reason not to go on the planes with the rest of the team until they really have figured if it´s false positive or not. They should at least consider going with another plane, and then be tested and stay quarantined until they got the results back in Beijing, and under no circumstances have contact with the athletes!

Are you really bored or something? There was an obviously provocative note, which was immediately refuted. What exactly are you discussing? Own mythical and vague ideas about a complex and expensive machine called "the Russian Olympic team"?

according to the latest statement from RusFed's press attaché, Olga Yermolina:

"Everything is fine. On February 1, the whole (fs) team will fly from Krasnoyarsk to the Beijing Olympics."

I just don't understand why Gleikhengauz doesn't stay home. False positive PCR tests are pretty rare and he's not even that important. He's neither head coach (like Eteri) or the main techical coach (like Dudakov), so why is he needed so desperately that they risk their entire team's chances? Daniil can go to a dozen other Olympics as a coach but for Kamila, Sasha and Anna, this is likely their only shot. RusFed's priorities are just messed up.

Well, we don't know if he really flew to Krasnoyar or stayed in Moscow.
We do not know if being in Krasnoyar he will isolate himself and take all the appropriate measures.
If your next tests come back negative, it's only fair that you go to Beijing.
I doubt RusFed will put him in touch with the team within three days of flying to Beijing.
We'll see what happens on Tuesday.

Well, I will write about this for the third time: Kogan did not say that he had a false positive test. There are simply no other sources that would confirm that he did the test and received a positive result.

How do you know he is not that important? For instance he's always pretty close to Anna and un the last olimpics it seems he was the most supportive with Alina, beside that Eteri has clearly stated the three of them work as a team, Daniel is not exclusively working on choreography

Does he go out on the ice to compete? No? Then he's not that important. Of course it wouldn't be ideal for the girls to miss one of their coaches but they'd still have two left, it's not like they would be completely alone. And even that would be manageable. Seriously, this is their Olympic dream that comes once and only once in life. I wouldn't risk that for anyone. At least keep him isolated from the athletes and don't send him in the same plane…

Is it confirmed that Daniil is still in Moscow? That's better for the girls because they flew to Krasnoyarsk three days ago.

False positive vs. false information. People it's not so hard to understand the difference.

Of course no one knows what happens tomorrow, but no one was talking about false positive. This is how hoax is created.

I know what the Beijing Olympic rules are regarding pre-flight testing. I do no know if IOC protocols will be or have been disregarded in this or any other incident so far. I do know there needs to be consequences for federations or individuals violating of these rules. If there are no consequences for these actions there will be violations. I'm not sure if consequences should be denial of entry, immediate removal for individuals, sanctioning of federation, etc. for flagrantly disregarding the safety protocols.

The information has been denied, however I think TT won't jeopardize their chance to sweep the olympic podium, Daniil won't be there if there's any risk for the team, but not because he's not that important.

While modern online video conferencing cannot fully replace being in the arena, it can make up a decent amount of a gap.

One area of concern is that even if a positive on arrival is quickly followed by the negative tests, the skater loses a couple of days of critical training time right before a competition on top of another day or two lost to travel time and the more days away, the more chances to lose what had been a really good feel for the ice in a sport where there's a very thin margin between a perfect jump and a fall or a pop.
